As with some other reviewers, we were invited to stay there from Friday to Saturday as part of a large family event.
The view is breathtaking, the food was very good and the restaurant staff, from Abu Ghosh, were friendly, warm and helpful.
It took us about 30 seconds to check in - we were handed our keys straight away - but we were not directed to our room - we followed the signs down long corridors and ramps until we arrived in the right wing to take the lift up.
They seem to specialize in these large group bookings and there is certainly plenty of space to have several such events at the hotel at a time.
The room itself was very disappointing. The wall near the bed was filthy, the bed was covered with just a sheet and a thin comforter, and the comforter was dirty and I found a hair that was not mine on the sheet. The bed was not as comfortable as usual hotel standards and my pillow was an old style with foam pieces inside. It smelt and looked clean enough but judging by the pattern on the fabric cover, it had been around since the 1970's. The floor could have done with some more vacuuming. The window did not lock, and the wind whistled through the gap all night so we finally had to sleep with the window open.
The bathroom was OK, but neither the sink nor the bath had plugs but reception sent some up when asked. The towels were nice and clean.
The common areas - corridors, stairways and so on seemed dirty.
Overall, the place needs a good cleaning and re-decorating, and then maybe it might warrant the prices they charge (the rack rate published on our room door stated $140 per night for a single person, B&B).
Call me cheap, but for that price I expect a clean room and a comfortable bed...
