“Outstanding location, breakfast, accomodation...happy with it all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Hard to fault the Scottish Guest House for anything. Very clean, and accommodating, they managed to get all four of us into a room with three single beds and a fold up bed for the fourth. It was a bit tight, but it was less than the apartment would have been which wasn't available anyway. No matter, we were gone all day. Again, coffee in the rooms, and I am pretty happy. I might have liked a cleaner shower curtain, but then again, I didn't ask them to change it either. OK, maybe a comfier bed pad, but now I am splitting hairs. For the price and location, I don't think one could do better.
Breakfast was excellent, so much to choose from. Custom omelets, a cool orange juicing machine provided entertainment, yogurt, cakes, roasted veggies, Get the 411 on making your own latte from the attendant, and you are really doing well.
Walkable to the Old City. Restaurants are nearby. Neighborhood seemed safe even at night. There are tombs going back about two thousand years right below the property. There is a charming lobby and library with internet. We enjoyed the sunroom when we brought in dinner. Desk personnel were very helpful and sent out our laundry for a reasonable rate. A property with history is appealing to me. This one is lovely.

“A warm welcome during a cold spell in Jerusalem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I stayed here for 9 nights during a business trip. For me the location was ideal, a short (10-15 minute) stroll from Jaffa Gate and slightly similar distance from Yaffo Street. The staff were very friendly and I was impressed with the size of my room. Although I didn't have a great view from my room (like some of the other rooms) it was well equpped and the aircon helped to keep my room suitably warm during some cold days and nights. The breakfast buffets were great with plenty of choice. Overall a great option if you want to be close to (but not in) the old town.

“Two weeks at St Andrew's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My wife and I just returned from two weeks in Jerusalem where we only stayed at St Andrew's. Its rooms are rather basic, although many of the bathrooms are undergoing updating. That being said on many other levels it was excellence by any measure. First and foremost the staff were uniformly courteous, friendly, professional and extremely responsive and helpful. The breakfast buffet (included with the room price) rivals or exceeds that of many major international hotels. It offers a wide variety of fresh and preserved fruits, cheeses, eggs (made to order if you wish); homemade yogurt --delicious. Don't miss the Mediterranean poached eggs. The location could not better, within 15 minutes (strenuous) walk to the Jaffa Gate. But once you get there one of the most complex and fascinating cities in the world is open to you. This is not the place for the physically impaired; there is no elevator and many rooms are on the 2nd(to Americans, the third) floor. There is free WiFi, in-room tea and ho water and tea bags (and sometimes coffee) available 24 hours a day in the sun room overlooking the Old City. I highly recommend this really excellent small hotel.

“Room With A view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Wonderful jewel of a place in Jerusalem. Had a room overlooking the old city and we felt we were transported back to the time of Christ. A cool 20min walk if you are so inclined, which we did. Delicious breakfast with eggs made to order and fresh orange juice. Love the bread and dips.Stayed there for 2 nights. Basic but comforatable rooms and value for money. The guest house also has a chapel and a lovely garden on the premises. We loved going out to the balcony at dawn and watch the sunrise over Mount Of Olives....Could picture Jesus Christ on the mount praying for Jerusalem. Stay there you will not be disappointed....

Room Tip: Most definitely ask for a room on the higher floor and with a view over the old city..

“Oasis in Jerusalem”

A friend and I stayed here a few years ago. It is walkable to the Old City and near a bus
line as well, between two main roads. Chapel was lovely as was the gift shop. Food was
wonderful, the chef liked to experiment making new dishes every morning. Staff was more
than friendly, in fact one of the night clerks took us to Bethlehem in his car on his way
home. I would highly recommend this place. We still talk about what a nice time we had.
