“Comfortable hotel with great staff and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I have stayed in this hotel five times in the past year. The rooms are spacious, quiet and comfortable. All rooms have a small kitchen and living area. 10 minutes walk from Damascus gate and it also has nice retaurants nearby and a 24hour super market opposite.
The staff are extremely friendly especially Karmel on reception, Mo and Mohommed in the dinning room and even the accounts manager always greets you with a smile. They would go out of their way to help in any way that they can. Excellent customer service and great price.

“great place to stay in Jerusalem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The hotel is very well located, 10 minutes walking down to Damascus gate and 2 blocks away of public transportation services. The rooms are wear down but for the rate and location is just great. ideal for travelers who just want to have a comfortable and centrally located place to stay. Staff is very helpful, but do not expect a western style breakfast or other amenities such as coffee shop inside their premises. Had a very late check in with no problems!

Room Tip: higher floors are best!

“Great location and plenty of space but needs updating”

We had been to Jerusalem before so knew that the Addar Hotel was in a great location and that some rooms had an extra sitting area which would accommodate our family. However the hotel was much more tired that we remembered so if you think you are going to spend a lot of time in your room then this is not the hotel for you. However if you want somewhere central to most locations in Jerusalem and want to be able to accommodate the family in one hotel room then this is a good place. We had our two boys (6 and 4) on a bed in the sitting area and we slept in the main bedroom. It wasnt luxurious and the bathroom is looking particularly tired but everything worked and there was enough space for all the bags. The hotel staff are very helpful and although breakfast was very basic, it was tasty and fresh. The Addar Hotel was opposite the American Colonial Hotel where we were having Christmas lunch, a stones throw from St Georges Cathedral where we were catching the bus to Bethlahem on Christmas Eve and very close the Palestinian Pottery where we wanted to buy some tiles. It is also a short work to the Damascus Gate and various other parts of the Old City and the Garden Tomb so it worked well for us. It also had flexible booking which enabled us to only have to confirm 48 hours before arrival which was good. Overall not the greatest hotel in Jerusalem but it suited our needs and is a good short stay in a wonderful city.

Don't be mislead by 50% off. I had terable experience. I booked superior suit, arrived in the afternoon and was told that the room is not ready, fine, I was told to drop my bag in the reception and take a tour in the city if do not want to waste time and come back later. It was raining, I came back just after 5 pm tired and cold and needed a hot shower, well I was told that I do not have a room, the excuse given to me was my room is leaking. The sent me to out of town crapy 2 or 3 star hotel (leass category) in a standard room very old and outdated with no internet service in the room. They did not want even to give me a credit and I go find a hotel myself since the booking was done through hotels.com. Next day I had to come back to Addar hotel to get a hand written reciept. I was their for one day and this has spoiled my vacation completely. They make money from this because the hotel they sent me to charges customers 35% less than what I paid, which was supposed to be at 50% from the Addar established rate.
