For us it was a good place to stay in Jerusalem. We felt at home, thanks to Ruth Barkai’s kind hospitality and the functionality of the studio. The apartment has everything on a basic standard level which we appreciate; it is complete and functionally furnished. Once tired of all the city’s impressions, there is the wild, informal garden to relax and read a book. The two of us stayed 11 nights at studio B (which can host up to four people) which is cleaned once a week. The location is in a relatively quiet square of walking alleys, really close to the Damascus gate of the old city. The recently opened lightrail/tram is ideal for transportation troughout the city. We liked Barkai studio as a semi-independent apartment and in the meantime being, modestly, informed by Ruti who knows a lot about events and exhibitions, also in the neighbourhood. On our request she showed us her workshop, where she creates her ceramic artwork which she exhibits and sells trough a ceramic cooperational shop. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return someday.
