“Beautifully Serene”

We were two couples traveling together for two weeks in Israel. We rented a car and drove to the Sea of Galilee for 3 nights, staying at Frenkels B and B. What a find! The first thing that strikes you when you get out of the car is the clean, fresh air filled with the sweet scent of flowering citrus trees. The Frenkels have a lovely property set up on the hills above the Sea of Galilee, with an olive grove and a multitude of flowers and flowering trees. Upon our arrival, we were served iced tea and apricot nut bread in the dining area, all the while getting acquainted with our delightful hosts, Erwin and Eina. We were led to our 2 rooms upstairs, where each room had a sitting area and bathroom in addition to the comfortable bed. Our sitting area had coffee/tea maker, small frig, fresh fruit and cookies, and a TV. The room facing the olive orchard also has a view of the Sea of Galilee. Each day, we shared a fantastic breakfast of cucumber/tomato salad, olives, cream cheese with chives, yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice, home made rolls, eggs, and some type of fish (pickled herring, smoked salmon, lox). Erwin and Eina are a wealth of information about the area and made suggestions and directed us by map, to some interesting sights and good restaurants. Erwin is very knowledgable of the history and politics of Israel, and we learned a great deal about the country from him. Because the location of the B and B is difficult to reach by public transport, we would recommend having a car.

“Gorgeous in the spring”

The Frenkels have built a beautiful B&B set in what could only be called a botanical garden. We were there in spring and no matter where you looked flowers bloomed. Except on the back 20 acres, which is planted in olive trees. We sampled homemade olives and oil as part of the sumptuous breakfasts. The room was lovely with a private entrance directly into the garden. We used the B&B as a jumping off place to visit the old city of Tzefat, several Christian sites on the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights, from which we could peer into Syria.
The Frenkels are a delightful couple and wonderful hosts. A great place to stay. Three days was not long enough.

“Second visit - and time for a first review”

What better review can one give than to say this is the second time you've chosen to stay at a B&B? I stayed with the Frenkels in 2007, with my son and two friends, and we had a great experience. Coming back to Israel in December 2010, I wanted to show off the Galilee I know and love to my new partner - and could think of no better place to stay than at this lovely B&B. Everything the other reviewers say is true, and the Frenkels are also a font of information about the area - they recommended a terrific restaurant in Rosh Pina (and told us which ones to avoid) and they told us the best way to view the Hule valley (on bike). The breakfasts are fantastic, and now that they have wifi enabled (which wasn't the case in 2007), the place is perfect.

“Fantastic place to stay!”

I absolutely adored this place! I have never been a big fan of B&B's, but this place has totally changed my opinion.

It is located in the hills around the Sea of Galilee, and has a pretty view over the Sea.

It is run by Mr and Mrs Frenkel. Mr Frenkel is a retired journalist, and knows just about all there is to know about the history of this area of the world!

The rooms are big and pretty, the gardens are gorgeous and the village is very peaceful.

The breakfast is AMAZING - the bread, olives, jam, grapefruit are all homemade/home-grown. Best breakfast we had across all of Israel and Jordan.

There was free wifi in all the rooms.

It is really the perfect place to stay to explore the Galilee and Golan heights region. And it is much nicer than Tiberias!

About 10 minutes drive down the road there is the town of Rosh Pina which has restaurants and things to do at night time.

The only thing I would say is that you need a car if you want to stay here. We had a hire-car, and that was just perfect.
