We were two couples traveling together for two weeks in Israel. We rented a car and drove to the Sea of Galilee for 3 nights, staying at Frenkels B and B. What a find! The first thing that strikes you when you get out of the car is the clean, fresh air filled with the sweet scent of flowering citrus trees. The Frenkels have a lovely property set up on the hills above the Sea of Galilee, with an olive grove and a multitude of flowers and flowering trees. Upon our arrival, we were served iced tea and apricot nut bread in the dining area, all the while getting acquainted with our delightful hosts, Erwin and Eina. We were led to our 2 rooms upstairs, where each room had a sitting area and bathroom in addition to the comfortable bed. Our sitting area had coffee/tea maker, small frig, fresh fruit and cookies, and a TV. The room facing the olive orchard also has a view of the Sea of Galilee. Each day, we shared a fantastic breakfast of cucumber/tomato salad, olives, cream cheese with chives, yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice, home made rolls, eggs, and some type of fish (pickled herring, smoked salmon, lox). Erwin and Eina are a wealth of information about the area and made suggestions and directed us by map, to some interesting sights and good restaurants. Erwin is very knowledgable of the history and politics of Israel, and we learned a great deal about the country from him. Because the location of the B and B is difficult to reach by public transport, we would recommend having a car.
