“Needs quickly renovation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

We stayed one week at hotel Dalia .Much problems about noise, but the most
serious thing was that the bathroom stinks awfully about mildew. There was no ventilation
at all.It must be at least 15l/second.I have education about these things. All bathrooms must
renovate quicly. The tiles must remove and dry the bathrooms and dry them carefully and
make good water insulation.Bathtub must remove and install shower cabin. The ventilation must
modernisize. Its better to remove the carpets of the rooms and make the floors from
other material.

“Crumbling, dirty "service" hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

Located behind Dan Panorama Hotel aside the landing strip of Eilat airport, at the beginning of Eilat Hotel Island, Dalia Hotel is right in the touristic part of the city. It is used often used by locals and tour guides to sleep over night in order to be on time in the early morning either to fly back to Tel Aviv or pick up groups or be on business, and in general by local workers that need a (relatively) cheap bed to crush on for a night or two.

The homepage of the hotel is:
http://www.daliahotel.co.il/index-en.htm

There are several misleading pictures there. The building is not attracting as it is not the interior design of the rooms with basic cheap furniture. The hall is crumbling with strapped sofas and my bed was quite uncomfortable. Low quality mattress, and cheap linens. I got the impression that they cut expenses on basic facilities. The hand soap in the bathroom together with a particularly too intense scent, was as aggressive to my hands as if I had washed them in bleach. Blankets and pillows were quite dusty. Bed linens looked of a cheap fabric: too smooth to be satin, so uncomfortable.

Service at the reception is between ok and rough. They do not care too much. You can get free purified tap water in the hall, but you have to get your cup from the room. Breakfast could have been fresh probably at the time of the opening of the hotel: nowadays, it is just additional trash: inedible to say the least. Hard-boiled eggs, bleach-smelling tomatoes or unwashed ones (you get some choice after all), raw cucumbers (up to you to chop them), stone-hard bread. Selection of cheap cheese.

There is no elevator. Proximity to the airport shall not be a problem as air traffic is shut down from 10pm to 6:30am. More problematic instead is the proximity of the main street, where it is unavoidable not to hear buses or heavy trucks during all day and night long, so that sleeping might be a good wish at some point of the night.

Generally dirty. I found an apple core by one of the sofas in the hall and several long hair everywhere around the staircases. I also found dirty windows in my room. The hotel has a pool, and a dining room, and nearby there are several other dining options as the hotel is located in the shopping/touristic area of Eilat. Yet there in general, restaurants are expensive and not so good. Better to move on the other side of the airport, and look for something in the "true" part of the city.

A possible option for a cheap accomodation for a night. On the other hand for sure I would not reccommend it for a holiday in Eilat. Too low quality and low comfort for my standards.

Room Tip: Ask for a room, on top floors on the back side (off the main road)

“Nice Hotel but Awful Customer Services"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

I stayed in this hotel with my mother and younger brother for three nights. When we first arrived the manager asked for our passports. I handed over my driver's license. The managed said he wanted our passports. I explained that over the phone we had been told that any form of of photo i.d would be okay and that a driver's license would be fine. We explained that as a result we had not brought our passports with. He then started getting angry and said all three of us needed to hand in I'D. When I said that no hotel has the policy of making every single guest hand in I'D, he said to me what would happen if you went shopping with your mother and a bomb exploded and killed her....who would identify her body? I was highly offended, insulted and upset......especially in a country like Israel where terrorist attacks are an every day threat. When you wanted to buy a drink by the pool, you had to go inside the hotel to buy a token (and you had to fully get dressed again as they shouted at anyone who was in swimwear). The lifeguard was always in a smaller kiddie pool playing with his baby son. I would never stay here again

“Ok for over night stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

The stay over for our trip to Petra Jordan was quick and this hotel provided and inexpensive but clean and comfortable overnight stay. The planes we few and stopped overnight and even though we were on the air stip hotel side the snoise did not disrupt our sleep. The pool was small a but clean and comfortable and good restaurants and beach are close.

“Dirty and Dishonest Staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2011

Terrible says it all. We booked a non-smoking room, the room we received stank of smoke. Asked for new room, told whole hotel was full. Showed confirmation for non-smoking room to front desk, he said "all rooms are non-smoking, we cannot control what guests do." I asked why the room had an ashtray in it then, he just wrung his hands. Complained to manager the next morning, he said "all rooms are smoking, I wish the on-line reservations sites said this." ????
Not even mentioning the food from previous guests that we found on our floor, the cold eggs that were sitting on a table in the hallway when we checked in at 6 PM and were STILL THERE when we checked out at 8 AM the following day, or the parking ticket we received from parking where the hotel desk advised us to park.
We stayed at 5 hotels on this trip, all others got positive to excellent. This hotel was terrible!

Room Tip: Don't stay here!
