My husband and I spent some time in the hotel 13 years ago and liked it so much that when we needed a hotel for a night before our trip to Petra we did not even looked any other hotel, just booked a room in the Orchid. We found that while the staff is very nice and
accommodating , the view is wonderful and the breakfast is pretty good, the maintenance of the hotel have been grossly neglected. The wood walkways and walls are splintered all over needing some carpentry as well as painting, some of the appliances are are "semi-broken" etc. I still would go back and would recommend it for friends but with less enthusiasm than before.

We were fortunate enough to sty in a shangrila villa which are the villas at the very top of the resort backed only by the mountains and with a full exquisite view of the red sea...I believe we received an upgrade...not sure why. I would totally recommend staying in these phenomenal suites with jacoussi and daybed on the outdoor balcony(takes 1 hour to fill up), lovely bedroom and awesome indoor bathroom with a massive bath. Fold out double couch for our 2 kids. Breakfast was great and variety (except the eggmaking area was dirty and I mentioned it to the staff but they didnt seem to care). I ate buffet dinner there which was nothing special(but Im a chef and extremely fussy) so the Israeli inlaws were more than happy with it. A special thank you to Tal the F&B manager for his generosity. I loved the allnight free internet and free calls all over the world. The tuk tuks were excellent and the kids loved it. I would definately only stay here if I had my own transport. Not sure about the other rooms...didnt look but it totally suited me to be out of central eilat and commute in to restaurants and shopping. I loved this hotel (mainly due to the villa) and would highly recommend it if you stay in these top rooms

My fiancee and I received a gift from our parents - 3 nights at the orchid. We were upgraded to the Shangrila Villas and boy was that the best thing that could have happened!!! The Villa was beautiful - had an outdoor jacuzzi and a huge indoor bathtub. A breathtaking view from out bed that overlooked the panorama of the Red Sea, the palm trees and the beautiful red mountains of Eilat.

We felt no need to leave the hotel premises to go into the town of Eilat. The food was fine - the New Years Eve meal was stellar! There was light entertainment in the evenings, pool, air hockey, swimming, a spa and gym - we just had the most relaxing, romantic and wondeful weekend!

And the staff could not have been nicer or more attentive - every request was met in a manner of minutes! Definitely my favorite hotel in Eilat!

Ticked all the boxes; Room serviced every day (clean bedding & towels), staff friendly (went out of way to arrange an easily accessible room because of children and offered up-grade at no extra charge [up-grade unfortunately would of been no use for children, pity]), breakfast was excellent (very wide choice), wifi reliable and amply safe and secure car-parking. Would recommend to anyone with children.
