The Boomerang is well situated near the museum, the dolmus parking area, bars and restaurants. Abdulla speaks English quite well and it very willing to assist in translations when seeking transportation or lodging. The hotel is recently remodeled and quite inviting. We had a smaller room which was nicely arranged with new furnishings and a large bathroom with plenty of hot water. A Turkish breakfast is furnished, but they will do whatever it takes to accommodate your tastes if cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese and olives are not your idea of breakfast fare. The terrace on the rooftop is where people hang out and watch the tube, enjoy complimentary tea and coffee, game, read, enjoy alcoholic beverages that you must supply.
We were there in January so the adjoining bar and restaurant were not open, but Mehmet & Alibaba's next door offers excellent Turkish cuisine at very reasonable prices. The spiced meatball kebab is well worth $5/10TL and comes with rice, pommes frites and salad. From the museum turn up the hill at the HSBC ATM and the Boomerang is on the right.
Room Tip: Abdulla also has a bunk room for backpackers.
