“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

The room was nice, with a partial view of some ancient ruins, and it was in a good location for walking round town and getting to the bus station. There was not a lot to do here. We went to Ephesus on a tour booked through the hotel. The staff were not very helpful with booking tours and things to see and do around town. they were also not very helpful in regards to bus's. Also the sounds from the mosque were very loud and kept waking us up at night. But all in all the stay was fine It was nothing special and i probably would not recommend it to a friend but it was not horrible.

“Nice little hotel, fairly basic but good value”

We only spent one night here whilst visiting nearby Ephesus but enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel. Our room was quite large (though with a small bathroom, strange shower set up with a half-size bath tub), well air-conditioned and with a balcony overlooking the street.

Breakfast was ok, not a huge spread but sufficient to fill up for the morning. The location was excellent, just a short distance from the bus station and very close to the restaurants and bars in Selcuk.

“This hotel really needs to improve”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

I don't enjoy writing poor reviews of hotels, and take it seriously when I do. Unfortunately, the Artemis was very disappointing for us, especially given the many good reviews it has received.

Our room was very basic, which was to be expected given the price, but we found that the power in our room was very unreliable. When I mentioned this to staff, they indicated that we could go out into the corridor and switch on the circuit-breaker each time it went off. We did this for two days. Each morning we awoke to find the power off and the water cold. It wasn't until the third evening, when we found the power cutting off every few minutes that I had to request a room change or request that the hotel fix the problem. They said that the power failures were a constant problem with our room and that they would call an electrician and have it fixed! They eventually changed the room instead. I must say that I expect better from this place. Also, our room was not cleaned in three days which was not good, and in both rooms, the showers worked very poorly.

Given the problem we had with our room, I had expected the staff to be much more helpful than they were. Generally, they displayed an aloof and dismissive attitude, and I had the feeling that we (customers) were considered a necessary evil. Considering that I only complained when I felt I really had to, this attitude was perplexing. We were always polite and undemanding, and I believe that I had been very tolerant under the circumstances.

On the positive side, breakfast in the courtyard was pleasant and unhurried, and the hotel's location was central and easy to find.

Nevertheless, I believe the Hotel Artemis needs to improve considerably, both its basic maintenance and its customer service.

“Great location, convenient rooms, modest price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

The hotel is small but cozy and very nicely located. It takes just 400m to the bus or train station and all main shopping/eating out streets are nearby
The rooms are no thrils, but have air conditioning and showers.
There is supposedly free wi-fi, but it was not working at the time when I stayed.
Overall, if you're not up to 5-star luxury, you definitely need to stay there.

“" I'd like to return there..."”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

Why I liked ARTEMIS hotel? It is nice, clean, quiet and for reasonable price... And, above all, I felt there accepted as an old friend while my privacy was respected at the same time.

PS: Do'nt forget to visit Meryemanna and St. John's grave!

Milos
