“Not a good experience at hotel. And manager hustles for other tours.”
This was not a great experience for my friend and I.
First, the room: small, dingy, dirty carpet, no toilet paper, one flat sheet but no fitted sheet, loud, mildewy smell. The wifi did not work in the hotel, and worst of all, there was NO HOT WATER. By the way, this is a more of a hostel than a hotel.
Second, the manager: Albi seemed like a nice guy, but he tried for the first 30 minutes of our stay to sell us overpriced tours of Cappodocia, booze cruises on the Mediterraneran, etc. He was clearly getting a cut and seemed really shady.
One last tip for Selcuk: the metro bus to Pammukale costs 15 TL, but the local ticket offices have all conspired to fix the tickets for sale at the station for 25 TL (also the price at which Albi offered us the same ticket). So the scammers at the station are shafting the drivers and hitting tourists with a 66% markup on the bus to Pammukale. Not sure how you get around this problem, but Albi would tell you if he was half as honest as he claimed to be...
The hilarious thing is that we up, got dressed without showering, paid the front desk the ridiculously overpriced 60 TL for one night, headed to the train station to get the heck out of there. Albi actually had the nerve to call to the train station, have his scammer ticket sales buddy track us down, and hassled us over the phone some more about purchasing one of his friend's Cappodocia tours.
Just avoid this place. Or make sure you don't get harvest more than 20-25 TL for a double. That's a reasonable valuation of this place for a night.
