“Best Breakfast Buffet in the World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Of the 34 countries I have visited in the world and the hundreds of hotels I have stayed in, this ranks number one for the breakfast. Honey dripping from the cone, fresh yoghurts, fruits dried and fresh, and hot items too. I drool every time I think of this breakfast. Worth a stay here just to start off your day with a happy satiated belly.

“Great Place”

Only spent one night here, but would have stayed longer, had they had room.
Really lovely, friendly helpful staff. Family run and the whole family appear generally interested in their guests and proud to tell you about the amazing Istanbul.
Marmara is very close to all the major sights of the old city.
I would certainly stay at the Marmara again and reccomend it to friends and family.

“Great place to stay”

After spending a few weeks travelling around Turkey and staying in some less than enjoyable establishments, arriving at Marmara guesthouse was a real pleasure. The location is great - right in the centre of the old city, and the room was clean, fresh and well organised. The terrace and breakfast are both great. But perhaps the best aspect of the guesthouse is the lovely host who was was very friendly and helpful, but without getting in the way (or trying to sell you something!). I think this was the nicest hotel / hostel we visited in Turkey and would recommend it without hesitation.

“A perfect place to start your trip”

We spent three nights at the Marmara Guesthouse at the beginning of our time in Turkey and we thought it was perfect. Elif was very helpful in guiding our adventures and offering advice for Sultanahmet. She recommended an excellent meatball place and was always cheerful and accommodating. The breakfast spread is really a lot of fun and the fresh squeezed juice is delicious. The deluxe room that we stayed in was cozy and had an excellent view of the water. The shuttle transportation is affordable and convenient. All in all, we absolutely recommend the Marmara Guesthouse, although we didn't swim in the swimming pool. ;)

Room Tip: The Deluxe room has a nice view!
