“Don't stay here, avoid spoiling your holidays”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Writing to warn all potential Istanbul visitors and just hope I will help someone to avoid the mistake we did - do not book this hotel.
Be aware that the rooms are extremely small (even for a budget place), dirty, old and smelly. The window in the room was “facing” some brick well with a spiral staircase in it. The toilet and shower is a small cabinet, there is no a separate shower cabin, so when taking the shower the water is all around. There was a hole in the ceiling right on top.
There is a terrace with a nice view – it is true, however for this part of Istanbul, this is quite a common thing – majority of the hotels around here have a terrace. The breakfast was awful, comparing to other Istanbul hotels – just unacceptable.
I do realise that there are different levels of hotels and one should not expect 5 stars amenities for the price of 60-70 Euro, but honestly, you can find better for this price.
Do not stay here – you will regret and your holidays will be spoiled. There are lots of other good budget hotels with great service in Sultanahmet area.

“Beautiful view and good location BUT...”

The only thing going for this hotel is the location close to several historical sites, and the beautiful view from the breckfast balcony. The lobby of the hotel is pretty, and the staff are nice. We stayed overnight for about 190 Italian Lira, or 70 Euros. Be advised the rooms are not that nice. The room we had was barely sufficient, with a shower located in a tiny toilet. The room had airconditioning, but no way to turn it on. We had a room which was fairly quiet from the street traffic, but you could hear others in the surrounding rooms. Cleanliness is questionable. The point of staying in such a place, is to use the location. Close to restaurants & stores. Bring your own soap, the soap in the room is not sufficient. The breckfast was great, and we made friends at the hotel. The family we met felt their room was not sufficient either. Also, there is no elevator, and the breckfast balconly was 4 flights up from the lobby.

Room Tip: Check out the room first before you pay. There are other hotels in this area. Rooms are smalland the...
