“Fantastic location. Great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This hotel gets five stars for its location, helpful staff and amenities. It is walking distance from the major attractions and is right on the rail line, so you can always find your way back when walking. I can't say enough about the staff and how helpful they were. They were great for recommendations for restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Keep in mind that the hotel itself is a 3 star level but how much time do you really spend in the room? Breakfast was filling and the limo from the airport was a very welcome plus. Also, remember that the call to prayer is broadcast throughout the city so ear plugs are a good idea when you turn in for the night.

Room Tip: Higher floor was nice.

“Excellent location, great staff.”

Wow, wonderful value for the money! This hotel is centrally located to all the major sights - Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, etc. Also, you can't beat the free pickup from the airport and free breakfast buffets. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was very modern. The staff went above and beyond expectations. When I asked for change for a big bill, the employee at the check-in desk actually reached into his own pocket and gave me change! Also, the maid staff did a sweep of the room and, upon realizing that my husband had left his suit in the closet, ran after us to ensure that we had it before we left.

Also, the wireless is fast and included in the price of the room - what more could you ask for?

“Excellent in all respects”

We stayed in Tan hotel, Istanbul for 5 nights in December. We felt that the hotel exceeded our expectations in all respects - fantastic location for sightseeing in Old city, very cooperative front desk staff, relative value for money and a good breakfast to start the day at the rooftop restaurant with wonderful views of the Bue Mosque. We felt the biggest positive point of the hotel was its location. All the key sights like Aya sofya, blue mosque, grand bazaar, topkapi palace, etc are within 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The tram stop is a couple of minutes walk. You will be spoilt by the choice of eateries in the vicinity. The room was decent and clean. We would have liked if the TV had more English channels (that seemed like the only negative point). The staff were extremely helpful in guiding us for the local tours

“Perfect!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012 via mobile

After researching all hotels in the Sultanahmet area, We ranked Tan #1 in value, family suite size, breakfast eating area, location, and atmosphere! So, we picked Tan Hotel to stay at between Dec 11-14, 2011. The location was great, staff was most friendly and helpful, breakfast was wonderful, and the price was excellent!!! They communicated so well via email and everything exceeded our expectations. We have high expectations of hotels we stay at, and Tan definitely delivered!!! It's a great hotel!

Chose to stay for my husbands 50th birthday. Was undecided between Taksim or Sultanahmet decided on the latter and we were really in the thick of things as far as sights were concerned. Really pleased to have booked here and definitely stay again.
