“Great hotel in convenient location”

For the price, this hotel was excellent. The location was perfect for exploring Old Town. Every morning they had an incredible, huge breakfast buffet, perfect for starting the day. The pool and sauna downstairs was also a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English (not entirely common in Istanbul). I booked a single room, which was not large, but as I do not spend tons of time in the room, it was not an issue. It was furnished nicely and the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room that is on a higher floor. There was a little bit of construction on the str...

“Excellent Hotel for Our Instanbul Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed in Sapphire from Jan 14 thru Jan 20, 2012. This hotel was recommended by my brother who had stayed there earlier. I am so glad he did. The most important requirement for a traveller is the comfort and security that he must feel when staying overseas, and we certainly felt assured in Sapphire. It did help that we were introduced to Mr Engin Evsen, the GM/owner of the hotel. He was always available to advise us of our daily intended tours/walkabouts.

Strong plus points : free wifi with excellent connectivity, nourishing and refreshing breakfast, very friendly front desk and service staff who also provided lots of advice and friendship, and a comfortable lounge-bar for night caps. Location was superb - close to tourist attractions, the tram station and our travel agent, Overseas Travel Agency. The standard room we stayed in was very clean and well appointed with a safe, electric kettle with coffee and tea satchets, minibar and wall-mounted flat screen TV. The standard room will suit a couple well.

Other facilities that impressed and surprised us included a subterranean pool and sauna/steam and massage rooms in the basement.

We look forward to another visit to Istanbul and a stay in Sapphire again during summer, when the weather is warmer.

Room Tip: Early booking would ensure availability and airport pickups if required.

“Perfect”

I stay for 7 days at Sapphire as partly for holidays and to attend a wedding.
The first great thing about the hotel is its location right in the middle of all great tourist attractions of the old Istanbul (Aya Sophia, Topkai etc.), but also being closely situated next to a tram station made it an excellent start point to discover the rest of the city in a quick an efficient way.
The rooms were very good, always clean and well maintained.
But most of all there service of the hotel was very good from the moment on I got my booking confirmation, arranging the airport transfer, helping me to find some rather special places in Istanbul (was on a look out for a newly opened restaurant, not yet recorded in any tour guide). The staff was very nice - which contrasted a lot with staff in many other touristy place in the rest of the city.
