“ok for a night or two”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We ended up at this hotel courtesy of Turkish Airlines following a missed flight connection. The travel trauma prior to getting TL to accept responsibility for this overnight are for another forum.
The hotel is quite substantial with a good number of open plan lounges surrounding clean and presentable rooms with pleasing facilities and comfortable beds. The food for both evening meal, breakfast and lunch is buffet style offering a good if somewhat bland cuisine. The public rooms and bars are very satisfactory although lacking character that such a fascinating city could provide. It is a good ride away from the airport although but a short taxi journey from the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace. Overall the hotel served its purpose well enough at a difficult time but would rush back specifically to stay there.

“After reading reviews, better than expected”

I stayed at this hotel 3 nights. November 4 when we arrived from the US and November 13 & 14, 2011 before our return to the US. The hotel is near a section of the city walls, but there is not a lot to do or to see in the area. A Burger King is about 6 blocks away.

I found the room to be spacious, modern and clean. The furniture and decor in the halls is dark, but that maybe a Middle Eastern style of decoration. The WiFi in the room worked easily. The sheets and the towels were very soft. The food was very good with several options on the buffet. The only complaint was that the bottled water was always warm. Since we could not drink the water or use ice, it was not very refreshing.

Room Tip: I had a corner room and another room on the 5th floor which were renovated.

“5 star, I think not.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

This hotel has a 5 star "front of house", but 3 star rooms and food.
I travelled on business to this hotel, and I am sure that I have stayed they previously. However, it has not changed much, and the first time I stayed must have been 10 years ago! The rooms are "dingey" the barthrooms in particular are in dire need of restoration. The food was poor at best, "buffet style, and if you arrive towards the closing time, you will find that what food there may have been initially, has not been replenished. Most items were European 5 star prices, how do they get away with it? In fact the only positive comment that I would make is that the doormen were attentative and helpfull.

Room Tip: No positive tips available, sorry

“Horrible Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

The rooms are smelly and the furniture is poor. Not sure how this hotel ever got a 5 start rating. What a rip-off. The staff barely speaks english and they have no clue about customer service. The airconditioning was weak and we ended up opening the windows and it was too noisy as the hotel fronts a busy street. The breakfast buffet was decent but no omelet and the coffee is pathetic.

Room Tip: Non Smoking rooms are best but avoid this place

Very old hotel but pretty nice rooms. It is not near anything forcing you to eat there. Small buffet supper would be about $20 per person.
