“Hotel Barin-Isatnbul”

This was a great hotel. Hotel Barin is located in the heart of old town, close to all the old town attractions and within walking distance of train station, but there is a metro from airport and a tram very close by. Hotel staff was polite and helpful. Rooms were clean. Very good value for the dollar. Lots of local restaurants close to Hotel.

Room Tip: You may need to ask directions to the hotel as Isatanbul is a very consolidated city with many narro...

“if they give you room 112: run away screaming!”

the hotel is almost nice, but there are lots of details which just are no-good.
Our room there: room 112. Little, dark, small. The window faces an internal cloister full of stairs and the worst imaginable smell from the kitchen. Continuous noise from the electric motors of all the air conditioners of all the other rooms never stops and is not even defeated by fully closing the window. And if you do close the window you will need to turn on the air conditioning in your room: noisy, and pointed right directly on your bed, so that either you die from the extreme heat (if you turn it off) or from the extreme cold (if you turn it on).
We asked to change rooms: not possible. :(
too bad Barin: there are much better places in which to sleep in Istanbul.

“very good hotel for the price we paid”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

The hotel reallly worth the money u pay for it , even they have gaved us the most smallest room they have but i must admit we have arrived 8 in the morning and they gave me the room at 10.30 which was very good touch from they part so ii didnt want to ask for anything more .
the staff is ok not that much friendly and not bad they are so professional in dealing with guest and the reception speak good english , so no problem in communicate
the breakfast is what do u expect from a decent 3 star hotel , is very good and tasty , orange juice was excellent as well as coffeee was ok
the hotel is putting slipers , own safe in the room , LCD screen which i never find those 3 things in 3 stars hotel , so finallly i must rate the hotel as nearly 4 star in term of rooms & service with a very very affordable price
Thanks again Barin Hotel for your good image you left in us
P.S the smallest room i was in it was rooom#102( but honestly teh bathroom was large)

“Good hotel, but not prime location”

I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was clean, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

I probably won´t be returning to the Hotel Barin any time soon, however, because of the location. It is just a bit too far from the major tourist attractions. You can walk to the Grand Bazaar easily, or take the tram to all the big sites, but if I could do it all over again I would definitely stay in Sultanahmet. Furthermore, the area surrounding the hotel wasn´t the most appealing: it´s full of shops selling knockoff retail!!
