Im a regular traveler and at times travel stand by thats why I couldn't reserved for a room right away.Last Nov 5 -9 '11 I was in istanbul.Night before my daughter checked on Hotel Albion and had this hotel of our choice on standby and when I arrived I proceeded there.My 3 1/2 days stay were fine, the people in the reception area ,Oktoy and Candan were so friendly and helpful to give some touristic pointers and places to go.Its just the regular basic but clean and the location of this hotel is great,right at Sultanahmet and walking distances from all the Istanbul world heritages incredible sites.

I wrote a letter to the hotel to provide information about services. Within 10 minutes I received a detailed response. The first time I meet such a high level of such consultation.

The (very small!) hotel bathroom smelt very dank and unclean. My husband got a splinter in his foot from wood shavings on the floor - which was covered by a dirty and stained carpet.

It looks like the owners are basically not bothered with improving the building in any way. Certainly not worth the money - we only stayed one night!

This is an old fairly basic city centre hotel. It provided 3 nights accommodation for us in a clean and comfortable bed and very small en suite but it worked - just. It has a lift which is a plus BUT there is a flight of steps to reach it???? There's no pool or patio or even roof terrace, just space for 2 tables adjacent to the front door, and no bar either. Breakfast which is the standard fare of boiled egg, tomatoes, cucumber, olives and bread and has to be eaten in the drab indoor dining room with no views or natural light to speak of. And please ignore the "Boutique" bit in the title, it means nothing. As long as you just want a base this hotel fills the bill OK.
