We stayed here twice, 10 nights apart, at the beginning and end of a cruise. Arriving early evening we had a beer at the bar before walking a short distance to a local kebab stall for an excellent value kebab. We made our own way to the hotel from the airport on the trams. This was incredibly cheap costing us each £1.60p. We had to change lines incurring another 2L token but the trams were clean but did get busy on the second link. Well worth looking up on the internet. Leaving the tram we walked uphill about 75yds before turning off Ordu Caddesi down a small side street on the right and hotel was a further 25yds.Hotel staff were friendly and we were shown to a small but clean room at the front of the hotel. Street was quiet. Mainly clothing shops in near vicinity. Breakfast was served on the rooftop with lovely views over the old part of Istanbul. Back out on the main road we walked within minutes to the Grand Bazaar.Fabulous labrinyths of narrow passageways full of stalls etc. Beautifuly clean and tidy, people sweeping everywhere. You can't go wrong for scarves and pashminas here, every colour under the sun. Not too much heckling. From here we walked to the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. The hotel is well positioned for many of the old landmarks and the main road is full of modern shops. After our cruise we arrived back at the hotel at 8.30am and expected to have to leave our cases till our room was ready, but the receptionist apologised and said that they only had a suite available for that night (no extra charge) and it was ready then so we were shown up. We had a large room with kingsize bed, settee and ample walking area. The bathroom featured a jacuzzi bath with shower over and towelling gowns. We felt very spoilt! Both rooms were very quiet. Breakfast again consisted of a wide choice of cereals, breads with cooked eggs and hams. Fresh juices and hot drinks too. We needed nothing more. All in all, we found this a well-positioned hotel and would stay again without hesitation. Ideally placed for gentle exploration.
