My wife and I planned our first trip to Turkey and a friend recommended the Valide Sultan Konagi Hotel.

First, the reservation process was easy and we took them up on their offer to pick us up at the airport. Our flight was delayed and re routed resulting in a five hour delay and they were able to respond mid travel to change our pick up time. The driver was waiting for us when we got there.

The staff was great when we arrived after 11:30 pm and showed us to our room for the next 5 nights. The location was great with a view of Haig Sofia. Newly remodeled, comfortable room.

The breakfast was excellent only surpassed by the view from the terrace room where it was served. Rambo the waiter and his assistant were a pleasure to see every morning.

We liked the hotel so much we returned after a week touring other parts of Turkey and they even let us leave some of our luggage for the week we were gone.

And just like our arrival the driver was waiting for us on our return flight.

And you couldn't ask for a better location, a five minute walk from the major sites (Haig Sofia, Blue Mosque), tram and shopping.

I just returned from 6 nights at Hotel Valide. It's a real treasure, located just a few minutes walking form most of the sites, yet very quite and peaceful. The hotel is so well maintained and managed. Rooms may be a little small but tasteful decorated, small marble bath in my room 0 3rd floor and heated floors which were a real treat to come back to on cold and rainy days.
The view from the restaurant is fantastic. But beyond that, the food is superb. Breakfasts were excellent and dinners also. The quality of the ingredients and the chef's capability is outstanding. The restaurants I tried nearby were not nearly as good. Perhaps the best point of the hotel is the staff. The head waiter in the restaurant is quite a character, makes sure you get what you want. The the hotel desk staff and other staff always went out of their way to help. They were always friendly, giving trusted information and advice. I truly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Valide, and highly recommend it to others.

This hotel is in a good location and has a spectacular view from the breakfast room. Some of the staff were great, some were overattentive in a way that was a little disturbing to me as a female traveler on my own for part of my stay. The rooms are small but well maintained and clean. Breakfast was very good and the location is within a block of the Aya Sofya.

We visited this hotel 10 years ago and I can vouch for the fact that the location is great. I tried to book again but they were full. But they did have an apartment I could have instead so we took it.

It is in a private bulding on the 4th floor a five minute walk from the hotel (they take yor bags round and up to the aparment for you). It has a great view out over the blue mosque and we could sit at night having a drink watching the birds wheeling above the blue mosque lit by the spot lights shining up onto them. Although its an apartment they come and clean every day and we could go to the hotel for their buffet breakfast . The breakfasts are great all the usual turkish stuff with cereals and sweet things if you want them. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. This might be a worth while option if you are a family as the apartment sleeps 5. There is no elevator so if you can't manage stairs its not for you. But it was a really good find whch we got quite by chance
