“Great location; helpful staff”

I recently stayed at the Sokullu Pasa while on a trip of the museums and historic sites in Istanbul. Most of my colleagues were at another hotel, which was fully booked, so it was chance that I chose this hotel - but I was delighted that I had done so. My 3rd floor room was very nice, and unlike another reviewer, it was also very quiet. The room and en suite bathroom (with lovely big shower over the bath) were always extremely clean, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. For some reason I couldn't get internet access in my room, but otherwise I have absolutely no complaints. The price, through booking.com was also very good value. The staff were friendly and helpful; by mistake I left my mobile phone, and they very kindly arranged fast shipping back to the UK for me (but be advised - for some reason Turkey won't allow sim cards to be returned to the UK, so I have had to arrange for a new one). The hotel is only a five minute walk from the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome, so is well located. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and certainly stay there again if I come back with family or friends.

Room Tip: I had 303 which has a side view of an old mosque and past that to the sea. I didn't hear any hot...

“A fabulous hotel”

There was nothing I did not like about the Sokullu Pasa Hotel. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the sheer opulence and beauty of the hotel, the location, the cleanliness and size of the rooms, the breakfast menu selections, the value for money - all in a word, 'fabulous'! I will highly recommend this hotel to all, and will certainly look to re-book if I re-visit the wonderful city of Istanbul.

Room Tip: For less noise, not the two rooms over the reception/front entrance..

“Great staff!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

I want to emphasize that the staff was extremely polite, friendly and helpful.
If I will ever return to this hotel, it will be only because of the staff. I thank them all.
In the hotel there is no isolation so the guest can hear everything even from the reception!
PLEASE avoid the first floor rooms!!! The whole night you will hear this huge iron entrance door slamming and it will be impossible to sleep unless you use medication!!!!
My room was not well cleaned every day. They didn't vacuum, they didn't refill the mini bar etc. One day I asked them to change late in the afternoon my sheets and towels. After I return at night, I was asked(not very politely) to pay extra for this service. Of course I denied to pay and finally they accepted it

Room Tip: Avoid staying in the first floor's rooms!!!

“Cozy”

Stayed here for a couple of nights recently. While we were a bit hesitant when we first arrived at the hotel (it looks like a simple building in a dimly-lit alley), we were pleasantly surprised once when we were in. Also, we realised later that the hotel was actually within close walking distance to most of the tourist attractions

The rooms are cozy and comfortable, although small (which most hotels in sultanahmet are anyway). Really liked the dining area and the breakfast spread was excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful as well.
