I stayed for 4 nights. Room is small but clean qnd peaceful. The hotel is near the fish and meat restaurants so no worry on where to eat. It is also walking distance to some tourists spots the. The staffs at the reception are very friendly. Breakfast at the rooftop, awesome. Internet connection in the room is very important for me.

Very good location, great employees such as 'Jacob' and his 'assistance'. I do recommend!

First, they cheat on reviews, so read these carefully. As you check out waiting for your taxi, you are asking to enter a review at the desk, IF you seemed to have enjoyed your stay. If not, they do not turn the lobby desk laptop around and make that suggestion. You decide: is that is honest and what TA stays for...

The breakfast is very good on the roof top; the best part of the stay. Interesting old building near a tourism area on one side and a great locals restaurant area up the hill below the bazaar. The rate is moderate.

You room might overlook directly into a whole building of "sweat shop" workers making clothes. A real bad view of hard working men making clothes.

We had our problems with this hotel. They were short rooms and tried to pack our two room reservation into one room at the same price. Rooms were not clean. A/C did not work and we had to spend hours proving this straight fact to a unxious and not caring manager. Poor service.

My whole family votes this the worst hotel we stayed in all of Turkey on a two week tour. This hotel should not be a Best Western. TA should check their practices.

We started in the summer of 2010, so maybe things are better. We only hope so.

We stayed at the Amber Hotel earlier on in the year because like quite a few people when we arrived at the sister hotel, The Empire Palace, we were told there was no room available. The common explanation is that there is a problem with the "booking system" so please be aware. The Amber Hotel and what is around this hotel is in my view perfectly captured by a fellow tripadvisor reviewer "springboard" who gave it a downbeat average rating. I cannot frankly go along with any of the reviews which place this hotel above an average rating. By the time we took stock of our situation we decide to have a shower, the bedroom room was tiny and looked inwards onto a pretty awful courtyard. The one thing that cheered us up was the fact that the hotel was just around the corner from a street of very nice fish restaurants. The following morning we were picked up by the hotel taxi and taken to the Empire Palace. Word of warning, if you decide to venture north towards the main centre please be very careful, the streets in my view look a little threatening.
