“Good as a business hotel but not more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

The hotel is good if you are travelling on business as it is close to TUYAP and is clean enough, but that is all there is. The service is ok, but not spectacular and certainly less than expected from a 5-star hotel. I would avoid the restaurant as the food was not special (or warm for that matter). There is nothing to do around so avoid this hotel if you want to do something outside the hotel. It is far away from the city (20 km to the airport and 45-50 km to the city centre), so be careful about that. Walls are so thin that you can hear the conversations from neighbouring rooms.

Couples beware!! We made the mistake to book a room over the weekend with my wife and checked out a day early and booked another hotel to get over this one.

“I got much better than I paid for it !”

I just came back today. I was there for 3 days, attending exhibition in Tuyap exhibition center. Perfect for that occasion. Hotel offers transfer to the Fair center by van. It's 5-10 min. of driving. I got very good price on www.booking.com and what I got is much better than what I paid. Breakfast is good enough. Room is almost perfect. Only remark is too small bathroom. Hotel stuff is professional. Buyukcekmece (the suburban of Istanbul) where actually hotel is situated is great place. Looks like touristic town with a plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. Hotel is about 100m away from the seaside (Sea of Marmara). You can walk alongside the sea for kilometers. It was very pleasant and there were a lot of people walking. Istanbul city center is away more than 40km and if you go by taxi you would probably pay more than 60 EUR. There is better combination of transportation, if you have enough time - you catch local bus (100m away of hotel) no. 76c, get out on station Avgilar and catch metrobus 34 to station Zeytinburnu, there catch metro no. 1 to Aksaray and after that tramway going directly to Topkapi. You need 1,5-2 hours (it costs 4 EUR). Not good if you want to visit Istanbul everyday.

“OK for conferences, lousy location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Stayed for three-days conference, dacilities are decent, so are the rooms. Quite good, all in all.

However, it is over one and a half hour ride to Taksim (city center) and the public transportaiton cannot be relied on.

Taxi would cost you up to 70EUR in one direction, so be aware of this before you haul.

Room Tip: Make sure your room has sea view and a balcony.

“Horrible service!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

I'm traveling around 250 days/year so normally i try to book the best hotels at the best price (non-refundable cancellation) as we save a lot of money this way. Until this trip that i should have made at the end of October,I never canceled a trip, but unfortunately i had a terrible car accident on the 5th of October and i'll be in the hospital till the end of November. I had to cancel 2 trips: one to Romania and one to Turkey. The guys from Grand Hotel Continental from Bucharest understood the situation when i called them and canceled the booking without problems. I called on the 2-nd day after the operation to Eser Premium Hotel & Spa but they didn't even wanted to listen to me. They told me just: The policy of the hotel doesn't allow to make any cancellations. I wanted to send them the medical certificate to confirm that it's not a "normal" situation and even told them that my doctor can call the Turkish embassy to confirm but they told me that in any case there will be no cancellation. I think it's a big shame to make money on others unhappiness. I booked at this hotel because the last time i went to Turkey I stayed at Ramada and it was a bad experience. I have the impression that in Turkey they build a lot of 5 star hotels, but in all of them the service is no more than in one or 2 stars pensions.

“Average Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

This hotel is great if you are on a business trip and attending one of the exhibitions held at Tuyap Expo Center nearby which is 5-10 minutes drive from the hotel. There's a nice sea view and it seems like the hotel is situated in a small town near Istanbul.

I didn't get to try to the spa although I was told it was the biggest in Istanbul. However if you are using this hotel as a base to explore Istanbul then forget it, it's far and will take you too much time to get there.

This is a strictly business type hotel in my opinion. Hotel offers good breakfast, rooms are good, staff are helpful, all in all a good experience but nothing special.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room.
