Spent 2 days as family of 4 with Kulu Safari. This was our first safari and didnt know what to expect, but our camping expectations will never be the same. Due to heavy rains, we were unable to stay on the original campsite along the river, but the set-up next to a pond was geat and enjoyed listening to the crickets and frogs at night. After a 45min drive deep into the park, we arrived at the campsite to be greeted with a gin&tonic being placed in our hands and relaxed before starting the first evening safari - the jeeps are some of the best used by any of the safari companies and allowed for easy viewing for all riders as well taking trails that many other companies cannot reach. It can get quite busy in the park at times and was fantastic to be able to get off the beaten path. We were continuously able to see wildlife - wild boar, spotted deer, monkeys, dancing peacocks, monitors, jackels, elephants, crocodiles, green bee eaters, painted storks, wild water buffalo and yes even a leopard (other jeeps from our tour group spotted leapords every safari drive, but we were only lucky once)....only missed the bear from our list of must see. Safari trips taken in early morning at sunrise (as in the park, beat the external tour companies and most enjoyable seeing/hearing the park awake), back late morning to a scrumptious breakfast, time for a good nap, stuffed again with lunch, off for the late afternoon safari and then back at dark for a (hot) shower, predinner drinks and wonderful candlelight dinner and good company/drinks til late into the night. Javana and his staff were very attentive to our needs and ensured that everyone was having a great time. The food quality was excellent and we can only complain that we ate too well! The tents were very comfortable and cots/sheets of good quality-slept like a rock both nights. Overall an amazing experience and many wonderful memories and extensive number of photos are now with us forever. Highly recommend booking this tour and suggest a minimum of 2 nights to ensure that get every opportunity to see all the key animals. Suggestions - bring own binoculars if you have them as there are not enough for everyone (we shared) and also best when have a guide/ranger in jeep as they are much better at spotting then most of us amateurs.
