The hotel is very centrally located and has many restaurants to choose from including one that features Sri Lankan cuisine and one that specializes in Seafood. There is also a shopping center next door to the hotel that has a big supermarket (great for buying local spices at very reasonable prices) as well as a specialty tea shop.
It is a very popular hotel with both locals (both bars at the hotel are popular and feature great happy hour specials) and tourists so if you're looking for a quieter, boutique type hotel, this isn't it. The rooms are large and well maintained. All in all, a good experience. (One thing to note is that, although the hotel is in a great location, it isn't sea facing)

Every time I visit Sri Lanka I spend more time in cinnamon grand than I spend anywhere else. Cheers pub is the number one pub along with all of the other restaurants that give you a wide Varity of food and beverages. I haven’t got one complaint during the last 10 years I have been visiting the hotel when here in Sri Lanka. Keep it up guys truly amazing

An excellent hotel with a great choice of restaurants. London Grill and the Lagoon particularly good. You will do well to better this in Colombo.

Fantastic hotel! From the first steps after entrance to the lobby you feel an atmosphere of amiabiity as if you returned to home after long absence. The rooms are very conmfortabale vith beautiful views either to the city or to the inside yard which in itself is a beautiful garden. I would recommend to stay in rooms on executive floor. Staying in the rooms provides you with complimentary drinks & snacks serving in the evening in an intimate atmosphere of small cozy restaurant. The hotel is very peculiar by great choice of restaurants suited to every fancy. And seafood of "The Lagoon" is just a perfection. What can I say more? Nothing, but WELCOME HOME!
