We stayed almost two weeks at the Sansu Hotel. My wife had to seek medical care at the famous Lanka hospital, which is located across the main road just a few minutes away from the hotel. If you need to see a doctor in Colombo, the Lanka hospital is probably the best choice in town! The staff was very helpful and friendly. There are restaurants and a supermarket near by. Wi-fi is free of charge and there is a fairly good reception in some rooms on the second floor. Hot water is available all day long - you just have to tell them. They even have room service!

location was very poor - too far from main centre for walking. No places to eat even though the reception told me of places I couldn't find them. There is no restaraunt - it is a snack bar and in a back room badly lit. Ants in bathroom.
A paper sign sellotaped on the wall says tours arranged - I asked and they said there were none - I was supposed to be there for 4 nights but left after only 2 nights - my family texted me another place and I left . No good for a woman on her own - I have travelled extensivly in Asia before. I know the price is cheap but I have stayed in cheaper places for less.

It was clean, with helpful personnel. Very nice and bright room! Hot water only from 05:30 am until 07:00 am.

Very run-down and dirty. There are no towels or toilet paper! Tiny TV, mostly local channels. Bed sheets with holes. No blanket – there is only one big sheet, folded twice. Microscopic ants and at least one huge cockroach. Fridge is old and so dirty I was reluctant even to touch it. I couldn’t find how to turn one lamp off so I slept with the light. There were mosquitoes in the room.

There is no Wi-Fi. Breakfast is not included. Food in the restaurant is below average, certainly overpriced, and the juice is just a watered down dry powder. I ordered a tea-pot in the room and it was just a pot of hot water and a cheap local teabag in one cap.

Toilet flush was not working, so I had to open the cover and flush by pushing some internal gear :-)

This hotel is on the level of hostels and guest houses, tiny pictures on their site are much better than actual reality.

If you are looking for a nice hotel – pay $44 for Colombo City Hotel, it is much, much better and located in the very center of the city!
