Flight into Sri Lanka arrived late night and planned to drive to Kandy the next morning, so stayed overnight at the GOH. This is one of the oldest hotels in Sri Lanka (Chekhov even stayed here) and is located in a historic part of Colombo, so it is a good place to see a few of Colombo's sights if you don't plan to stay in the city long.

The room was clean and nicely decorated, though the corridor outside was a little dingy and the bed on the hard side.

The food at breakfast was okay, though the view of the harbour from the breakfast room was very nice.

Hello, we booked the standard room over the homepage agoda.com, as there is written, it should be a 4 star hotel, as we saw our room we made a claim, service was good, they gave us a deluxe room, deluxe room was old and in bathroom we found hair from the guest before... It's all a little bit dirty and old... Service was really good, in the night very loud... Don't recommend this hotel, too expensive...

We stayed one night at arrival in Colombo. The rooms are very spacious, but are quite old (infrastructure as well as furnitures). The mattress was extremely hard, even for someone, who does not like any soft mattresses. We did like the breakfast room very much, as from the terrace you can overlook the harbour (which is not accessible directly). The view is great but it is an old, once famous and well visited hotel. The entire hotel would need renovation. The staff was kind and very friendly.

We stayed one night, the location overlooking the harbour is great but it is an old once great hotel that looks its age as it is not treated with respect.
