“...don't let the bed bugs bite!....”

This guesthouse is one of the cheapest accommodation we have seen in Vientiane. The first room (2nd Flr) that we stayed for 3 days was amazing. Large, spacious rooms, cable TV, A/C and balcony. We extended our stay for another week. This is when the horror started. They transferred us on the 3rd flr... Same room size, bigger cabinets actually, the balcony was way better BUT there were "extra" tenants in the room....BED BUGS! We didn't notice it until the 2nd night. I thought it was just me...but when I noticed the bites- there is no way it came from mosquitoes. The entire duration of our stay...we slept on the floor. Needless to say, I cannot recommend this hotel. If there are bed bugs on the 3rd flr....they can easily be transferred on the other floors... WATCH OUT!!!

“It was nice for us...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2011

My wife and I recently returned from Laos, what an interesting place. We stayed there awhile back. I read some of the reviews for Phonepaseuth Guesthouse about being dirty and we did not experience this. We stayed several days, the location was great for us, it is right near a fountain and circle with many great restaurants and a small museum. It is on a small side street. The rooms were cheap compared to next door and down the street farther away. Anywhere we needed to go, they took care of us. They do have new management and seem to be slowly upgrading the Guesthouse. It's more of a mom and pop. It's not the Ritz, but we could stay a month there for the price of a few days. I would pick my room though with the front desk. Our room had a nice balconey to the street. We like to get walked all over and there was a nice massage/spa right across the street. We did not spend more than $35 for food/room/and a massage every other day there. Laos is an interesting place. What a beautiful country to have the most UXO?

“Bedbugs”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2011

The location is great and the service friendly. I was a guest for 3 nights and my body is covered with bedbug bites. I am still taking antihistamine medication to control the itching. Identified the bites. I always use a plug in mosquito fumer. Showed my bites to the Manager and he moved me to a different room. I Talked to a guest in the lobby who had stayed their before and he said that this hotel was known for bedbug problem. By choosing one of the twin beds I noticed one bed had no fresh sheets, very grey and looked someone had slept in it and the sheets were just pulled straight.
Have been travelling for 4 month in south east asia and this was a real shock to me.

“Horrible rude staff, dirty rooms, infested with bed bugs.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2011 via mobile

After arriving in Vientiane a tuk tuk driver dropped us off here, what can I say a serious mistake! The place was grimy, unclean, and infested with bed bugs. The sheets and towells were dirty looked like they hadn't been changed and no hot water! We had just unpacked when we discovered the little nasties in the beds we were out of there like a shot, asked to speak to management they couldn't care less. What a poorly run excuse for a guest house.

“Dirty and BED BUGS!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

It's good that I saw the bed bugs before I stayed the night there!
Rooms wer dark and grotty, no window! We had to ask for clean sheets as it looked as though the beds hadn't even been changed but turned out they were just as bad covered in stains!
When I approached reception about the bed bugs they didn't seem at all surprised! Which I think is horrible that they know about it and still let you stay there! They offered me only 50% of the money back, of course I didn't leave until I got a full refund. Either way I wouldn't stay here everything was bad, bed bugs or not.
