The Settha Palace is a very good hotel to stay in Vientiane. The room was big and the beds very comfy. The location is good for walking around in Vientiane. The best of the hotel is the restaurant (with open air seating) with excellent cuisine from a German chef. We liked it and can recommend this hotel for one or two nights but the hotel could use more of its colonial heritage and lacks at the moment atmosphere and the final touch in order to be rated outstanding.

We only stayed 1 night in this lovely, peaceful and relaxing hotel but we did stay in one of their very spacious suites, which was lovely! The hotel is in a beautiful colonial building and has everything one could wish for. The breakfast was excellent too. Location was good - a short wok into the centre of the city.

if you have to go to Vientiane (which has extremely little to offer) then make the Settha Palace your home away from home. Nice transformed mansion, with a distinct colonial feelings, friendly staff, well equipped rooms, pretty garden and pool, good restaurant. A peacuful place (in a sleepy town).

THis is definitely the best hotel in Vientiane. It is a small, old, very code hotel with very friendly staff members.
We went to Vientiane for a long weekend and this hotel was just the hotel we were looking for. As said before the small colonial hotel take you back in time for some 100 years. The rooms are very neat and clean with all modern facilities done in a endurable fashion. Lovely hotel.
