“not really”

We arrived late at night so we were first happy then we get the message that we can sleep there. But then we came up to the room in the fourth floor we get a shock. Everwhere were used condoms and sperm beads. The toilet was unuseable because it was without a toilet lid and very very very dirty. I have to say this hotel is a hour hotel too. Many prostituets looked at us very bad because we were traveling with the whole family.

Result: Morakat Hotel is maybe one hour nice but not for travellers
that spend there holiday with the family.

“nightmare in staying morakat hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2008

me and my partner paid a visit to phnom penh on september. the very first day when we reached thr was late, but the outlook of the hotel is really old and unattractive. the room was really old , the double bed was really uncomfortable. we saw the smoking smogs came in from the little window of the bathroom as our bathroom just located next to the aisle. the bathtub was stained. the slipper given was dirty. as thr was a counter at the lobby provides the service in helping tourist to get tthe bus ticket/ferry ticket. we engaged a plump guy who with big round eyes, to help us to get the bus tickets to siem reap. we was cheated by him as he asked us to pay him the bus ticket at the price of usd15 as the actual price for the tix was onli usd10! he told us he couldnt get the ticket for us as its local holiday so we had to pay extra but when we got to the bus station, we onli knew that we were chated by him. wat i wan to mention here is, the guy and the boss at the hotel were not a honest person as the boss promised me he will provide the service to send us to the bus station or the ferry terminal but he went back to his words, i m now still keeping d email from him. we really feel dissapointed with the service and the environment of morakat hotel and we would never ever stay in that hotel again.

“Took good care”

The staff took very good care of me. I told them I wanted a fresh fruit cocktail twice a day, and they made it available very cheaply, although it wasn't on the menu. They gave good advice on seeing Phnom Penh, and I was pleased to hear that a public sauna was nearby. They sorted out a problem with a flight, and arranged an inexpensive lift to the airport. They directed me to where I found a Japanese restaurant, and a very nice live seafood restaurant.
The room was a bit uninspiring, but there was nothing fundamentally wrong with it. And it was very good value too.

“made my stay comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2006

the morakat is on a side street close to the central market.
my room was on the second floor. the room was spacious having two beds and a large window over looking the market. my room was very clean, the cleaning crew
friendly and accomadating. the immaculate bathroom had a large tub.
the best though was the front desk both shifts had staff that was friendly
who you could work out my plans. the staff usally was showing me maps, advised me on suggested destinations and giving funny stories about certain destinations.
the kitchen i heard was good but it was not always open to match my schedule. the drivers outside the hotel were helpful and friendly guys.
it was great for the money.
