“Good location, inexpensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

The greatest quality of the Goldiana is location - you're in the heart of Phnom Penh and everything is a short tuk-tuk ride. This place is a great staging area for local site seeing (e.g. the Royal Palace) or for more distant locations (e.g. Tuol Sleng). Furthermore, this place is affordable.

Pros:
- Location, location, location.
- Inexpensive
- Good breakfast and service

Cons:
- WiFi is intermittent (although fast when operational)

“Good and inexpensive”

Located in a quiet area next to spa, nice restaurant and an upmarket coffee outlet, the hotel is very affordable. With breakfast thrown in, and a clean, large room, it is value for money. Hotel pickups to and from airport was efficient. The free wifi was surpringly fast. The TV was an old set but had wide range of prog choices. Breakfast was ok- nothing that great. Coffee lovers would prob wander down the road to get 'proper' coffee fr the outlet mentioned above.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel, esp for those with a tight budget.

“Great hotel in the heart of Phnom Penh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

I stayed at this hotel during a visit to Phnom Penh. The hotel is very nice, borderline elegant. It is definitely one of the nicest hotels in the area (and also one of the most expensive). The lobby and exterior grounds are clean and well decorated. There's some areas to sit as well as the hotel's restaurant. I didn't eat anything but breakfast at the hotel, but the breakfast buffet was good. It included some breads, fruits, hot food, coffee, juices, and an omelet station. There is a minibar in each room and some additional drinks for purchase downstairs in the lobby. But the prices are a bit inflated. You can get cold beer and other food/drinks at the Lucky super market which is just a 5 minute walk away from the hotel.

I did have the chance to use the laundry service at the hotel which was good, but pricey. The bed was ok, nothing special. The bathroom is configured a bit odd. The showerhead is in the middle of the long side of the bath tub instead of the short side, which is a little odd. The bath tub is also a step up from the floor which makes for a tricky exit. It sounds funny, but just use caution when you exit the tub as you can slip. The room has a safe and AC.

The location of the hotel is great. There are plenty of tuk tuks waiting outside. You can get one to most places in the city for about $2-$3. You dont need to pay more than $3 for any local ride. You can get a tuk tuk to take you to S21 (Killing Fields) wait for you, and return for $10-$15. There are a few restaurants and bars near the hotel too but the waterfront is a great place to hang out. There's a lot going on there with a tons of restaurants, bars, and night clubs. It's easy to get tuk tuks to and from the waterfront. There is a good coffee shop just outside the hotel to the left and a great Thai/Cambodian restaurant out to the right. There are also plenty of spas around the hotel.

If you have the money to spend then this hotel is a great choice. It's comparable to the Cambodiana but the footprint is smaller and the location is a bit better I think. I would definitely recommend this hotel but do venture outside for lunch and dinner and explore the local culture. Check out the night market, eat some street food, and have a few drinks for a cheap price on the water front. Enjoy!

Room Tip: I heard from some friends that some of the rooms face a yard where there are dogs. You may want to...

“first rate personal service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

On a business trip, HQ office made this booking for me. For once, cant complain anything. surprisingly, for the kind of amenities (gym, swimming pool) they provide, this hotel is very affordable. Also situated in a more laid back area of Phnom Pehn.

A Standard Single Room is quiet large! Most importantly for me: staff are very helpful, but not overly attentive!

“Excellent comfortable hotel, in a good area”

Hotel was very comfortable and clean, everything worked well, the pool was great. Lots of good restaurants in easy walking distance, also supermarket around the corner and only a few dollars for a Tuk Tuk down to the river and markets etc. Staff were excellent. Get up early for breakfast as "hot dishes" are not kept hot. We had an awesome time.

Room Tip: There were five in our family, travelling with a much larger group. Our three boys (aged 11 - 15) we...
