A very good hotel, on a level that matches international five-star hotels, though with certain inadequacies specially in the outside decor and the feel.
The hotel is one of the centres of international conferences and meets in Dhaka, so expect an eternal buzzing crowd in the lobby, The staff is quite helpful and the hotel does have some very good and convinient facilities available. On the lobby level, you have a sort of convinience store where you can buy recharge for prepaid mobile phone connections.
In the annex building, immediately behind the hotel there are three money exchange bureaux which offer some of the most competitive conversion rates in the city, I have personally compared it with those at the airport and at other larger hotels. Where the hotels offered 73 takas for a US dollar and the airport exchange bureaux offered 79 takas, the bureaux at the Ruposhi Bangla offered 81 takas. The difference is minor but if you have large amounts to be converted, then it could be quite a gain.
The hotel is a bit worn and has an oldish 70s feeling about it, from the interior as well as from outside but the rooms are quite large and spacious and are impeccable in their decor.
Location is good, right in the centre of the city, with Dhaka's horrendous, stationary traffic, this is the best choice.
