I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Bass hotel. I was visiting Armenia on my own for a long weekend. Booked the reservation over email (thank you Eleonora!). The hotel is located five minutes from the metro (for 50 Drams you can ride anywhere on the system, about 8 stops, basically from the hotel you can be at the Vernisage near Republic Square within 15 minutes). You can also walk down hill from the hotel to the Opera in about 15 minutes, where there are plenty of outdoor cafes, restaurants, places stroll, etc.
Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is not very big, just four floors, 13 rooms as listed. Room 43 had everything I needed and a great view of Mt. Ararat! (see photo). My room rate included all taxes and breakfast. Hotel also has free internet (dial up) and I think wi-fi, too, but that might be for a fee (I didn't have a computer with me). Hotel staff also helped arrange for my taxi back to the airport (about a 15 minute drive on a Sunday afternoon), and helped contact places to visit like the Ararat Cognac factory, and also warned me about the 10,000 Dram exit tax you have to pay when you leave from Zvartnots Airport!!! (make sure you keep some extra cash for this...)
I would definitely recommend visiting Erevan in the autumn (beautiful weather and a beautiful country!) and would definitely stay again at the Bass hotel!
