Parts of the staff are not speaking english, matresses were soggy, bathroom faucets broken, didn't get a receipt when paying the bill. Seen much better places for less money.

We booked 2 days in a double room by phone and stayed two days. The room price quoted was $15 per night with pickup at bus station and breakfast included. Pickup occurred when we rang to say we'd arrived. Pickup was 2 motorbikes, one of which we had to pay for.
Rooms were clean, fairly spacious and quite comfortable. Some had very new bathrooms but not all. However the A/C in the room we were first allocated did not work properly so we looked at two other rooms before settling on one (for $16) where A/C worked but still not very cool.
The hotel staff were friendly but the guy in charge of travel (who was the one who picked us up) was unceasing in hassling us to take tours etc with him, including as soon as we sat down to breakfast and even looking over my shoulder as I used the internet.
Eventually we did book a (boat & bus) tour with him, but it only included the morning portion of the tour (no bus) and we paid twice as much ($14pp) as everyone else on the boat. On challenging him about this he finally gave us a free bus ticket to Hoi An - but the bus turned out to be unairconditioned and with broken seats etc. This didn't stop him from trying to sell us more tours however. He singlehandedly spoiled our stay in Hue.

I contacted the hotel and had them reserve rooms for us. When we arrived, they were expecting us, so that's a plus since some of the hotels we had reservations didn't recognize us until I show them emails them.

I find the rooms adequately large and clean. However, room functionalities seem to be in disrepair. For example, we had to move to three different rooms to find one with a functioning air conditioner. Each time, we had to argue that only warm air comes out of the unit. They seem to believe that all you need from an AC is flowing air, regardless of temperature. Sinks clogged. Ants crawling around floors and walls. Tried to put us in rooms with no windows and AC.

Most disappointing for me was that the laundry service was totally unacceptable. They mix guests clothes together and not return them to rightful rooms or owners. We specifically asked them to wash our clothes separately and return exactly the same articles back to us. If they are unable to do so, please do not wash our clothes. We were assured that this is not a problem (I speak fluent Vietnamese so there's no miscommunications here). Needless to say, I found others' underwear in my bag and my clothes were missing. I had to go through other guests' bags to find my clothes. Some other guests were so angry because their clothes were completely lost, not found in any guests' bags. When discussed this with the owner, he said it was our fault for wanting our clothes fast. He had to wash them all in the same wash and it was not possible to sort them out by room. He ignored me when I said why did you take on the task after your staff assured me that this would not happen.

The location is fine, but not central. I would have preferred to move closer to the Perfume River where things seem to be more centralized for walking distances.

This is clearly a budget hotel and if you don't mind these encounters, this hotel should be fine. However, if you don't want trouble or issues with your stay, or deal with an owner who does not reason, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I would not return to this hotel.

We had a great time in Hue, because the reception is very nice to us.

We booked this hotel via a website and there's no problem when we arrive. They provide everything as indicated in the confirmation.

Furthermore, they provide us 4 bicycles without charge by the reason we booked in advance via the website.
