We wanted to stay at the Orchid Hotel, which we had heard a lot about, but because we were playing things by ear, they were fully booked. We went to a travel agent who booked Thanh Lich for us. The hotel is a little way from the "action" but it only takes about 15mins to walk to that.
When we arrived, the welcoming party was pretty sweet. They gave us roses and juice and a wet towel! The rooms were clean and spacious, though mine was a little musty. We didn't have any problems with mosquitoes like the previous review, thankfully.
What was slightly bizarre was it felt as though we were the only guests in the hotel at the time (for two nights)! Breakfast was generous, they kept coming out with plates of food - hams, eggs, bread, fruit... far too much for four people, and I felt a little bad!
They have a computer in the reception area with internet access, which is useful.
I would recommend Mandarin Cafe for arranging tours - near the Saigon Morin hotel.
