The hotel was renovated, clean, and well located in the center of town, close to restaurants, bars, and a reputable massage salon. The rooms had balconies with great views and were good places to dry laundry done in the sink.

Breakfasts were included and had great variety extending from the western to the very vietnamese pho bo.

Free wifi on every floor.

The pool was on the 8th floor and was a godsend after spending the night before on the train from Hanoi.

we wanted to stay at the orchid but it was full so we decided to take this instead as it is next door. Overpriced for what we got, room average, no safe and shower head very low, very good service however, but it didn't make up for the mediocreness of the hotel. Supposedly a roof top bar, but we only found the rooftop pool by accident and by then we were leaving.

The renovation was all too superficial.
On our arrival, both elevators were out of service and our room was on the 6th floor. So much for that.
The rooms were half-half. Old carpet, new AC. Old bathtub, new mirror. And so on, and so on.
There was no service booklet in our room, so I just guessed the 0 would be the reception. Quite the lucky guess, so I could ask for the WiFi password. Not so lucky was the fact that the receptionist didn't know what the password actually was and told me something like "enjoy your pine", and she even spelled it out that way (it was meant to be "time").
The breakfast is also Vietnamese hotel standard, which means you have to look very closely on what you eat, lest you want to spend the rest of the day on the toilet.
