We stayed here 2 nights as part of a 10 day tour of Vietnam as part of our honeymoon. On first inspection this hotel seems fine and pleasant. We had one of the nicest rooms facing the pool and its a good location for the citadel.
HOWEVER...
I agree with the comments about the staff - you get the impression they can't really be bothered. We ordered lunch at the completely empty restaurant and they forgot to bring the starters and the main was basically bachelors supernoodles with little else - also experienced by other guests on our tour.
As it was raining so heavily, rather than venture out after our tiring day at the citadel my husband and I decided to make use of the massage/spa. We spoke to one of the girls on out tour who had just returned from having a massage there - she said it wasn't that great but as there was little else to do we decided to give it a go. We paid 95000 Dong each to an unfriendly woman at the desk and were told to sit amongst the group of vietnamese girls who were all chatting loudly and eating. We were ignored for about 5 minutes then I was taken off to a small room by a scary-looking girl. It was quite a dirty room and not relaxing at all. At the end the girl remained in the room while I got changed and finally gestured that she wanted extra payment from me. My husband had a slightly different experience whereby after about 30 min the girl offered him 'extra' and when he declined she ended the treatment and sent him out to the waiting area. A pretty horrible experience really - and judging by the appearance of the other girls I would agree with the reviewer who said that there are prostitutes working in this hotel!!
I would say that the hotel itself is ok but just don't use their restaurant/ cafe or other facilities!

If you want a pool in Hue this is a good place to go as its quiet with a nice location inside the citadel. free breakfast is pentiful. i see the below reviews say there are prostitutes on site??? how would anyone know this unless they had used the services?? haha! there is a massage parlour inside the hotel but this is a 3 star (by asia standards) hotel and most do offer massage and spa services. i never saw anything that implied anyhting untoward here. rooms are clean, minibar and drinks are cheap. staff could have been a more helpful and friendly. after a little persuasion they can book onward train tickets for you to danang or further at a cost of 40,000 dong but the tickets are delivered to you room within an hour and the hotel is actually a 50,000 dong taxi ride form the station so by the time you have gone down there yourself to buy them you have spent more money. 10 min walk to the backpacker district with nice restraunts and bars. we ate at little italy and had a great pizza! also when visiting the citadel make sure you enter by the main entrance at the front as this is where the tickets are issued.

Great location (right next to the citadelle) + good pool.
Howwever the staff is not nice AT ALL + there's a "massage" place inside the hotel with prostitutes...

We stayed here for a couple of days.The price is very reasonable.But what I liked the most was the pool,because when its hot you can cool off nicely.The breakfast is a buffet which gives you choices.The rooms a bit dreary.Staff was friendly.
