We booked this hotel to stay overnight . We didn't expect much, as the reviews were not that good, we still want to try it because of the price .We arrived at 9:00 AM, and the staff let us check in early, that was very nice of them.We stayed in a river-view luxury suite. The rooms were huge with separate living and 2 balconies, rooms were very clean and quiet and the view was awesome .We love the view of the bridge at night, it changes color in every minute, very relaxing scene. Breakfast was good, plenty food to choose from. Staff are helpful, they organized tours and transfer car to Dong Hoi for us without any problem. The hotel looked a bit older from the outside but once we were inside the suite everything was pleasant. Overall, we had a positive experience with the Century Hotel, nothing to compliant about.

This was one of the pricier hotels we stayed in, but ww were thoroughly disappointed with this hotel.

The reception desk could hardly speak English and were trying to sell us tours as we arrived.

The room had an extremely bad smell and the shower did not work properly. At best of times, it was only a trickle of water quite inadequate for a shower after a day in the dusty hot weather. When we complained they offered us a different room but told us it didn't have the river view, which was why we picked the hotel in the first place. There was a rather old TV and the beds were ok.

The breakfast buffet was good, but was rather expensive at 8 AUD per head, and wasn't included in our room charge of 42AUD. definitely is not worth the money we paid for a stinky malfunctioning room!

Overall, this hotel does not deserve a four star rating and needs a thorough makeover, and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Really need a brush up big time. Rooms were ok clean.. we were there for 3 nights and shocking how old and flimsy the room was. The door to the balcony sounds like it will shatter everytime you move. the bathroom was contructed so if the door opens it slams into the toilet and the powder puff pink is just revolting in the mornings!

Can you imagine staying at a hotel with NO toilet paper.. it took 3 phone calls and 1.5 hours later to get 1.. ONE roll.

Next day.. none again.. incredibly bad housecleaning...the hotel constantly smells like fried noodles or fried something.. it is awaful and slightly nauseating :-)

We were on the 4th floor and above the kitchen so could smell everyones meals but it wasn't an offensive smell. Our main compliant was how noisy it was, we had workman drilling in the room next to us before 8am, the cleaners knocking on our door wanting to clean our room at about 8.30 am. Staff yelling at each other up and down the corridor from 7am, large tour groups leaving very early in the morning.......it felt as if it did not stop some mornings. Even though the staff were friendly some of them were incredibly pushy about trying to get you to have breakfast at the hotel ($US8 each person - you can cross the road and feed a family of four for $6). When we arrived they tried desperately hard to book us on their guided tour - all we wanted to do was settle into our room and have dinner.
The location is great and the rooms were fine. We have stayed at 3 star hotels for all of our other destinations and decided to treat ourselves in Hue but it was probably the worst hotel we have stayed at in Vietnam.
