Is is possible for this place to be better than the past year? Yes, apparently so! The comments on location and staff should always include the wonderful young owner, Thuy, who, among other things, is quite the musician. If you are lucky, you will be able to hear her playing away on the piano that is also available to guests, as is a guitar hanging across from it.

Another nice addition....2 fold down couches that are there to accommodate early arrivals who who are welcome in at any early morning hour to rest while thay await the opening of the front desk. There is NOWHERE I have ever been that is so considerate of the traveler. I would go nowhere else if I have my choice.

We stayed there for 2 nights, location was good and staffs were friendly, breakfast included and rom was basic but clean and quiet.

We stayed at some different places in ho chi minh city and found Pham Ngu Lao Street to be the absolute best with alot of nice restaurants and bars surrounding the street so Blue river had a perfect location. The Street was also a backalley so there was hardly any traffic so it was really nice and quiet.

The service in the hotel was flawless and we got alot of good advises from the hotels staff. The restaurants that the staff recommended to us was very good (2 different) and also the tours we made.

We chose this hotel based on the Tripadvisor reviews and they were correct, the location is brilliant - central and in a quiet alley so you do not have road noise. The staff are friendly and had great recommendations for restaurants.

But, we had bed bugs in our room. We woke up in the middle of the night scratching and when we pulled the sheets back we saw the little critters crawling around. Gross!!

The staff apologised and immediately moved our rooms. I think they may have even replaced the mattresses. Our second room was good however it is hard to give a hotel 5 stars when you are still scratching.
