I can't, for the life of me, figure out why this was Lonely Planet's top pick. I booked the room in advance and only after showing up did I find out the room had no window and looked like a prison cell. I promptly returned to the reception desk to ask for a room with a window, and was informed that that would cost an extra $10/night. I reluctantly upgraded and my window had a view of the ugly concrete building next door. The room was not clean (stains on the walls, carpet and towels), had a bad smell and no hot water at all. As if that wasn't bad enough, I left 2 days later with about 30 tiny bite-marks on my legs (and had worn pants around the city, so they weren't mosquito bites). I shudder to think the bed might have had bed bugs.
The hotel is in a great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful, but nothing else made it worth staying, especially since the price was in the mid-range.
In short, don't bother.
