I stayed here last week with a group of friends. We had 3 separate rooms, having negotiated each for $9 per night. Good rate, but I got less than we paid for. The room was filthy, and I literally asked them over a dozen times (over the course of a week) to please fix the internet, since the room's broadband cable was missing the jack)... no dice. I was willing to let it slide, despite how frustrating it was bouncing between surrounding wifi signals trying to get work done, until I checked out and they charged me a higher rate than we'd agreed on. I called them out on it (my friends had left the night before but I was present when they got the $9/night we were quoted) and they wouldn't budge, knowing I'd have to give in and pay more since the bus was waiting. To add insult to injury, my room had no TV, unlike the others, and the tour they sold me sent me into the glad-hands of like-minded scam artists who made the trip through the Mekong and into Cambodia absolute misery. I understand lying and cheating goes with the territory in these parts, but want to give fair warning to future travelers thinking of staying at this joint. These guys spoiled the end of an otherwise amazing trip through Vietnam.

USD$10 per night when you're surrounded by places charging USD$15-30 and up is a pretty good deal. It's on one of the busiest streets in the backpacker Pham Ngu Lao district so the location is great with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Our room was well sized, with cable tv, wardrobe and writing table, as well as internet and wi fi. It was quite clean, but the walls and bathroom could have been cleaner. The a/c also worked well once it got started, and the staff were nice enough. They also run a travel agency downstairs which is convenient if you're travelling through the country etc.
