“Not bad for the money”

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The location is Great, right in Downtown and next to the Intercontinental Hotel. The rooms are just what you expect for a 50.00 usd per night hotel. Just average but clean which is what I was looking for.
I would say that it is a good value for your money in the city. It is also next to two Malls. In the one next door they even have a supermarket and food court on the 4th floor where you can try different Vietnamese, Chinese and international food.

This hotel was a hassle from the start. We reserved direct & despite 4 phonecalls to ask for e-mail confirmation I never received one & the manageress was very rude to me.When we arrived they had made no record of our reservation. We got a romm for $55 & found it stank really badly & was old & not clean. We asked to move & were shown an equally awful room. For that price you can do a lot better so we decided to move hotels.Despite the fact they hadn't taken our reservation & the room was unsanitary & awful I had to argue the toss to get my money back. Not a good choice in any way & the manageress is one of the rudest people I came across in mty month in Vietnam.

“Never again !”

Overpriced in "off season" - NOT good value. Rate not negotiable. Not prepared to stay more than one night - moved to another hotel. Management quite unreasonable about cancellation.
Room very ordinary - reeked of cigarette smoke, and tired.
Central position good, but there are so many other excellent hotels equally central. Breakfast just OK.
Would not recommend.

“Best location for shoppers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2007

This hotel is perfectly placed for anyone who needs somewhere central yet reasonably priced. Of course one would not expect all the trimmings but then we were not paying USD 150 upwards per night. Located right on Dong Khoi, we had easy access to a supermarket next door, all the boutiques, tailors and shops within a stone's throw from us. A simple breakfast is included which enough to get you going for the day.

“Great Position”

The Asian is a small but well run hotel . The younger staff were so helpful in giving a map and explaining how and were to go and get the bargins and the markets to see. The older staff seemed more accommodating to the tour groups. Its easy walking to the main square which everything seems to run off and just going there and watching the traffic is an adventure. Our room was clean and the beds comfy but no tea and coffee facilities in rooms which is a bit behind the times, and going down to the lobby dining area everytime for a cuppa was a pain and then having to pay was a bit hard. Realy happy we made sure there was a lift in the hotel before booking. We were glad of foregoing a view and booking a back room as the traffic noise is really bad day and night but we slept sound unlike a couple in a front room. Not a real flash hotel but clean and handy to everything would stay again.

  • Disliked — Tea and coffee facilities not in room
