A colleague and I booked into the hotel for four days. Check-in was painless, polite and professional. However, Vietnamese friends who met us at airport had to show identification in order to accompany us to our rooms. Room was a little small but well appointed and clean. Problem with the safe not being able to lock was dealt with promptly and efficiently by houskeeping. Housekeeping also kept the room spick and span throughout our stay.
Breakfast buffet each morning was a bit of a disappointment — food was good but nothing really special except for the pho. The siew mai was tough throughout the four days we ate at the restaurant. I was also a bit disappointed with the table service — for example, cutlery was not provided on two occasions until we asked and tea was served promptly but with no teaspoons provided although we had arrived well before the 9.30 am cut-off and the restaurant was not terribly busy at the time.
Apart from these minor hiccups, the hotel stay was above average. Check out was also painless and staff happily kept our luggage secure even after we had checked out of the room. They also produced scales for us to weigh our luggage so that we could check that we would not have to pay excess charges.
The staff at this hotel are well trained, polite, friendly but not familiar! They regularly remind guests to be careful of their bags, and are helpful about giving directions to the various places. On our first morning, an employee from the organisation that runs the hotel came up to us at breakfast to ask how we found the hotel's service and if we had any recommendations as to how the service could be improved.
Both of us agreed that we could quite happily stay here again on our subsequent visits to Saigon. All in all, a fairly enjoyable and safe hotel stay.
