“Marvelous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Lovely spacious, clean rooms, bathroom also clean, neat and spacious! Excellent location, safe and within walking distance to shopping areas. Has a mosque close by and also has HALAL food down the road from hotel. Staff are helpful and friendly! The breakfast is outstanding, it's the first time throughout my travels, I've seen such a wide spread, you can have fresh, hot bread pudding, crepes and waffles for breakfast, they even have 2 flavors of ice cream. Caters for all types of people, there was pasta, rice, lovely tasty prawn curry with lots of prawns in it plus when prawns are finished, they bring more to fill in. Fresh fruit, cakes, pastries and lots more, too many to mention! Cereals, nuts etc etc. Eggs also freshly made, scrambled, fried or omelette. Normally you will not find a spread like this at hotels, well done to Sheraton for providing such a lovely spread, really enjoyed it! Also have free wifi in lobby only!

“Very good, friendly and clean place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I travelled on business, with colleagues and found Sheraton Saigon to be a very good experience indeed. Rooms are superb, with lots of little touches that make you feel special. Lobby is nice and spacious, breakfast was filling and tasty. staff is very helpful and nice
The location is also very good. You'll find everything from designer labels to street food to street clothing and heritage monuments within walking distance

Room Tip: rooms facing east or west have great views - on the east is the river and the west is the people'...

“Great hotel if you can afford it!”

It's a 5 star hotel, so you get what you expect. Great location, great service, rooms are spacious and clean (I was on 19th floor). The view is amazing.

The cons:
-Hotel doesn't feel air conditioned in the elevators or outside of your rooms.
-Breakfast buffet on the 1st floor is over crowded and didn't seem like enough staff to handle the people. If you can, go to the 21st floor...it's quieter and less people. Less selection of food thought.
-The gym is above average, but doesn't open until 5:30am. Can't squeeze in an early workout if you want to get off to an early start.
-I would guess the average traveler wouldn't want to pay these prices for a personal trip...especially if it's a long stay.
-If you are too close to the 23rd floor, you will hear LOUD music every night b/c that is where the open top bar with band is.

“Good Caring Staffs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I stayed in Sheraton Saigon with my family of 6 from 25-29th Jan. When I returned to HK on the 29th night, my daughter found out she lost her teddy bear which accompanied her for 10 years. She was very very upset. I immediately made a phone call to the hotel at around 11pm Saigon time. Mr Phong, the service operator, received my call. I told him about the case. Mr Phong was very helpful and promised to check with house-keeping. In 5 mins, he returned me a call and confirmed the house-keeping department found the toy and kept it. He referred me to house-keeping department to arrange the pick-up. My daughter calmed down immediately.

In the next few days, I worked out with their house-keeping staffs, Mr Chanh Tran Minh and his lady assistant (I forgot her name) to arrange courier back to HK. They were very patient and helpful to communicate with me and coordinate with Fedex. Finally I received the toy on the 3rd Feb.

I appreciated very much in this matter. It is lucky that the missing case happened in Sheraton so I could get back the thing less than a week. From my interaction with the staffs, I can feel their sincere to help me and provide me their best service even though the missing item was merely a piece of old used toy. I also find that the hotel get a very good and detailed system. I felt secured staying here.

“Fantastic Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights after cruising down the Mekong. It is a big, bustling hotel in a great central location. We walked to fantastic restaurants, markets and beauty salon. Also several wonderful art galleries within a few minutes walk.
We stayed on the 15th floor with city views looking down onto the Rex hotel and it was fascinating looking down on the bustling street. There was no traffic noise at all and we had a great nights sleep and found the bed to be very comfortable.
I don't know if our room had been refurbished or not but the carpets and furniture were fine. The doors to the very small balcony were locked - the balustrade seemed very low to allow access.
We didn't have much interaction with staff but those we did were polite and helpful.
The lobby cafe was very expensive - as much if not more than I would expect to pay in Australia and they allowed smoking in sections which was very off putting. It was the only area to have access to free wi-fi so we put up with the smell.
The breakfast buffet was amazing - definitely the biggest selection of food I have experienced. Everything from the usual egg station to noodles , cakes and icecream and everything else in between! If you can't find something you like here I really don't think you are trying!

Pros- location, breakfast

Cons - smoking in lobby

Room Tip: Higher floors for the view and less traffic noise
