The location is superb in District 1 with everything within walking distance. Don't let the lobby put you off as once you get to the room it's great - at least the the Super Deluxe Double I stayed in. It's facing the road with a small balcony but the street noise is not disturbing. If you are from the countryside and believe that it should be quite in a city you might think differently though and prefer a room in the interior of the hotel. The breakfast room on the 7th floor is very airy and has nice views. The breakfast is good. The people working at the hotel are all very friendly and professional and I did not experience any of the hassle that seem to be so common in this city. Even the taxi (VinaSun) ride from the airport and for business visits around the city was without challenges. With the rate I paid I will definitely pick this hotel again for my next visit.

Just returned from holiday to Vietnam and stayed on three occasions, 7 nights in all at this hotel. Had to request upgrade at cost of $10 per night on our first stay of 4 nights. We needed hanging space for clothes as attending a wedding which required long dresses etc. The room we were given at first only had a half height wardrobe. All three rooms we were given were very clean, wet room type showers in standard, which were new looking. Bath and shower in upgrade on 9th floor which was a smoking room, but did not smell at all. Very comfy bed. As I am a light sleeper I was bothered by the noise of the air conditioning units which were arranged in threes outside every room we stayed in.Just bad luck I guess. Although there were windows in every room we used they all seem to look out on to other rooms and two were very dark, in fact the curtains seemed to remain closed all the time! The room we stayed in on our last night (standard) was very noisy as the window refused to close and made the air conditioning useless. The TV did not work, and the shower head, although new shot water at every angle except on the user. However all in all, this is a good located hotel, the staff were very helpful, the breakfast on the 7th floor was good, with many choices. I guess for the price you may not get any better in HCMC. Only used Cafe in hotel, but the service and the food were good.

As all have said, hotel is located in the middle of everything. Stayed in a Junior Sute and it was clean, no smells, has windows, but you only look at other windows. I am in HCMC at least once a month and will probably start using this hotel for future trips. If your worried about noise, because thisis an active area, book a room on the upper floors.

PS- Guess they talked to security guards, as they now open and close car doorsand assist with bags if bell boy is busy. Just rememer a US$1 tip always helps!!

The BongSen is ideally located for getting a feel of the old city center. The quality is so-so -- we had a room without any windows, which was good for noise control, but does give one a feeling of living in a cave. Otherwise, the service is ok, and the breakfast is sufficient. Communication with the staff in English can be a bit of a problem, but it all went smoothly for us.
