The hotel is located in a quiet area, a bit outside of Hanoi's center and close to West lake. A taxi to the city center costs about 60,000 VND (4 USD).
The hotel is quite small with only a few rooms. It has been opened only in late 2007, so everything is new and in good condition. Some of the rooms do not have a window. The rooms are well equipped with aircon, minibar, in-room safe, telephone, comfortable beds and furniture. Overall, they were clean, but you could see some dust on some of the cabinets. The bathroom has a shower which occassionally overflooded due to bad/blocked drainage.
The front desk was staffed with two young and friendly girls during daytime who spoke good English. In the evenings/at night there was a guy who was also friendly but with very limited English communication skills. Next to the front desk there is a computer with internet access which can be used free of charge.
Overall we felt comfortable at this hotel which was exceptionally good value at only USD 25 for the room only. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but there are some coffee places in the same road. The only drawback is the somewhat remote location, so each trip to town required a taxi ride. Taxis are not that cheap in Vietnam (compared to other Southeast-Asian countries) and some taxi drivers have their meters manipulated and try to rip you off. Hence even though I liked the hotel, I may look for something more central if staying in Hanoi again.
