“Great Service”

Stayed at Rising Dragon 1 hotel in January and was very impressed with the overall service, friendliness and helpful ethos of all the staff that we had contact with during our stay...nothing was too much trouble. We organised our Sapa trip with the hotel and this was all organised - taxi to train, o/n train pick up & transport to Sapa, accomodation/meals trekking guide for 3 days $150 each. Hotel is in a good but very busy location in the old quarter and very close to the lake and we walked to many venues with the aid of the map provided by staff. No elevator to the room but they have staff all too willing to carry your bags. Found the rooms clean and comfortable and with breakfast provided at a cost of $27-30/night would definetly return. Good restaurants in the street ..ate at Geckos and a couple of other restaurants with balconys so it was good to look down on the motorbikes, cars and pedestrians vying for space on the narrow road below us.

“Great place”

Great clean hotel, very helpful and booked great tours through them. Arranged us a room for a mid day rest free of charge between two tours.

“Wonderful service and well located.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed at the Rising Dragon Hotel for 3 nights in mid October 2011(myself, my wife and our teenage daughter). This was our first stop in Vietnam, and we were blown away by the professionality, helpfulness and care taken by the team at the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, from recommendations for great local budget eating places, organising of taxis to ensure that we weren't being ripped off, to booking last minute air tickets when our plans to travel by train had to be changed due to flooding. All the team on the front desk understood and spoke English and were genuinely attentive to any need, day or night. There was plenty of advice if we asked for it, but never any hard sell or "extras" expected. Our triple room with ensuite was quiet, clean and comfortable (good beds), with good air cond and broadband in the room. A great breakfast was included in the very reasonable room rate - enough food to keep us going for the morning, with both Vietnamese and European options.
The hotel is perfectly placed to explore the old quarter and Hoen Kiem Lake area - just step out the door and you're there.
We had good accommodation all through our 3 weeks in Vietnam (travelling North to South), but in hindsight the Rising Dragon in Hanoi was the stand out, due the wonderful team of staff led by Mr David. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: We had an internal room - no windows. Sounds awful, but was away from traffic noise and was like a l...

I recommend this hotel for its qualty and price. The staff is very corteus, the rooms are clean and you find everything free, such as pc connected to internet for free in the room, water, fruit, sllepers and iron set in the closet. Braekfast is good. I would go there in case i decide to come back to hanoi

“Amazing staff, great rooms.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I can't even explain how wonderful the service was at this hotel. We had booked through Agoda and when we arrived they regretfully informed us that the Rising Dragon we had booked (closest to the lake) was having some electric difficulties and they would have to move us to the one a little further from the lake. The receptionist spent something like 1/2 an hour with us, going over almost every good place to eat or visit in the entire city of Hanoi. She was so apologetic and so very informative- not to mention she had upgraded our room at the next hotel, which was already a step above the other Rising Dragon. When we arrived at the next hotel we were again treated to the most amazing welcoming, and excellent room to match. Highly recommend and we look forward to our next stay at either of the two Rising Dragons we visited in Hanoi.
