I had a very bad experience in this guest house. When we were bargaining over the price we agreed that I'd pay a dollar more, because I didn't want to promise the staff that I'd book my trip to Halong Bay at the guest house. After shopping around, I booked the trip with a company that was recommended to me by other travellers (ODC Travels). When I came back to the guest house and the staff there understood that I had booked somewhere else, he threw me out. In the real sense of the word...I had bruises and he ripped off a necklace of mine and broke my backpack when he shook me. He became so agressive that I just ran outside in the street, where - exactly at this moment - there was nobody who could come to help me...as I had dropped off some laundry in the morning I had to go back there with a woman from another guest house who was willing to help me to get the laundry. But he wouldn't give me my laundry back, unless I paid half a day at his guest house...
Don't even consider going there - rather spread the word that this is definitely a place where you don't want to stay!!!! They are cheaters and very aggressive!!! The girl who worked there just watched and didn't say a word while he was shaking me and trying to hit me...they just try to get your money, that's all. So if they seem nice in the first place, it's just to get you as a customer...and they already know that if you don't book a trip with them, they will throw you out consequently...
Be careful!!! There are a lot of people like that in Hanoi!!!
