We chose this hotel because of its location, we thought it was close to the National Convention Centre but it wasn't, in fact very few taxi drivers even knew where the Centre was.
The hotel's web site gave the impression of a beautiful French Colonial style hotel with many facilities, the reality was a faded building which was crumbling and in need of repair and restoration.
I had reserved a room for 4 nights well in advance, although they had responded by email the hotel demanded a signed reservation form faxed back to them, fortunately I kept the fax receipt because when we arrived late on the Monday night they denied all knowledge of our booking. After much insistence they agreed to find us a room.
The hotel has seen better days, cupboard doors didn't close, lights didn't work and the smell in the lobby was pretty awful.
The breakfast also left much to be desired, it started at 6.00am and once the food was placed on the buffet table that was it, dry bread and fly covered food. There was a short order cook frying eggs and serving noodle soup but overall not good quality.
The facilities, swimming pool, gym, steam room etc. were not in the main building and were in fact the Asean sports club which had general membership.
I find it difficult to recommend anyone to stay at this hotel especially at there room price of $82 ++. There are many better hotels in Hanoi for half this price.
