“Reception/Lobby under re-construction”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Hotel's Reception/Lobby was under re-construction. This was not mentioned beforehand, when booking online; and it ought to have been mentioned. Normally (I stayed there several times) the hotel has (also) a nice restaurant at the mezzanine level; where one would take breakfast. Unfortunately, this was also under re-construction and instead we had breakfast in a function room!? -- that was simply not up to standard, and had I known this beforehand, then I would have chosen another hotel.

Dear Guest,

We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to send us your feedback. It is with sincere regret that we note your dissatisfaction of your stay this time at the hotel. We have posted the information of renovation on accorhotels website (in the Sales condition section) as well as other booking channels, but perhaps it unfortunately might not be very visible to notice. We are going through some changes but still hope to provide our guests with the best service and really appreciate our guests’ understanding. Also, our hotel is reopening the restaurant really soon so that our valued customers can have a nice, modern and stylish place to enjoy the breakfast and meals.

We are most concerned with the satisfaction of our guests and your feedback is of great value to us.

We thank you for your continued support and hope we will have the pleasure of serving you soon.

Booking for this promotion is available by direct hotel offer and through Rakuten. We hope this promotion will help us better meet our guests’ demand and give them better value.

It was a pleasure for us to be at your service and we all look forward to welcoming you again soon to the Hanoi Horison Hotel.

“Very bad experience this time”

I understand that the hotel is under the renovation. But, the hotel didn't prepare to give a better service to the clients. Most of flights from Europe arrives in the early morning. After more than 10 hours flight, we are tired but still, we need to wait until the check-in time.
The B'fast was so worst and there is no place to take a lunch or diner at this hotel.
The reception staff were not professionals.
I used to use this hotel before, I had a great service from this hotel that time. Because of this reason, I didn't hesitate to reserve a room at this hotel but this time, I am really disappointed.

Dear Guest,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your patronage and for taking the time to inform us of the difficulties you have encountered during your recent stay with us.

On behalf of Hanoi Horison Hotel, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience you were caused during your stay with us.

Like most hotel, our hotel policy regulates the check-in time is 2 pm and we trust that our receptionists have full understanding of the policy. However, we still try our best to offer early check-in to our guests, especially regular guests like you, where possible. We welcomed quite a lot of guests on some special dates in January, and perhaps we did not have any available room during that time in the early morning so it was a pity you had to wait. So we hope you would understand the situation and please kindly note in your booking or email us beforehand about your early arrival. With the note, we will try our best to flexibly arrange early check-in to our guests.

We regret that our restaurant and lounge were in renovation during your stay, but in the very upcoming time, they will again be opened and we would be glad to be at your service with our range of international delicacies.

It is feedback such as yours that enables us to adjust and better serve our guests and meet their satisfaction.

We sincerely hope this experience does not alter your trust in Hanoi Horison Hotel. We are looking forward to welcoming you again soon.

“Not a 5 star hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Very disappointing hotel. Certainly not 5 star, 4 at best. Rooms are outdated & uncomfortable. Reception staff unhelpful. Breakfast buffet was good but staff need to be more attentive & professional. We had to approach the staff for service. The bar is not a bar. The gym is outdated. The shower leaks.

Most disappointing was that we had paid for 4 nights in full at time of booking. However when we checked in they charged our card again. When we bought this to the attention of reception we were told this was Accor policy and reception were most unhelpful regarding matter. Not acceptable. Will not stay with Accor again.

Must add, on a positive note, that the concierge were very helpful & friendly.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for bringing to our attention the problems you have encountered during your visit in our hotel in January.

Please accept our sincere apologies for your unfortunate experience at our hotel. We are working hard to renovate and improve all the facilities of the hotel. Besides, the problem you coped at the reception desk has been informed to our Front Office Manager so that they can further investigate the problem and improve the attitude of their staff. Also, we have passed your kind compliments to the concierge team. This will surely motivate them to keep up the good work.

Your comments have certainly raised many areas of concern that need to be addressed and will inspire us to strive harder in servicing our future guests.

We sincerely hope that this experience will not impair your confidence in the Accor hotel network and that you will give us the opportunity of welcoming you again in Hanoi Horison Hotel. In the meantime, we remain at your disposal should you require any further assistance.

“Nothing special about this place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Stayed here for 5 days for business (though Im hanoi local). I chose the hotel because its location is ideal for my business while it is not the best for people who want to explore Hanoi old town. Service was so so. Staff need serious training. We were at the hotel bar sitting there for 15 mins but the server is no where to be found. They dont come to your table unless you look for them. Keep in mind there were only 2 or 3 tables with customers at the time. When I ordered cocktail drinks for the two of us, the server took the order then someone else came back about 10 mins later asking what drinks i ordered. So I guess the 1st server didnt understand a word from the drink menu. She should have asked if she didnt get it right at the beginning...food here is below average including breakfast buffet and off the menu. The hotel has a few floors leased out to businesses so it can be chaotic at the elevators at time. Room is decent and clean. Overall, Accor should do better than this.
