this hotel needs renovation and cleaning, bad service,food average.only for Koreans recommended, typically low asian standard, looks great in the MAIN LOBBY but the rooms are really bad for a 5 star hotel.

The first time I stayed in this Hotel it was about 10 years ago and today is still the same!
Daewoo Hotel is very well kept and maintained but after sooooo many years needs a touch up with some rooms refourbish and restaurants deco as well.
The service is still good and also the ratio quality and prices?
Quite good Japanese Rest "Edo" with fresh imported fishes.
Gym so so; small and outdated equipments.

In essence I like this Hotel.I have stayed in far far worse in Hanoi for about the same price. Yes its a bit dated.... but the tv works as does the internet. The shower has some water pressure and the room is generally pretty pleasant.

Its not ultra convenient but its not miles away either. The Lakeside Bar on the roof is fantastic although a little pricey.

Overall I enjoyed the hotel. The service was a little 'hit-and-miss' but then again so is most of Hanoi. In all I'd say its a comfortable hotel... not 5 star.. but a pleasant place to stay should you find yourself in Hanoi.

Stayed for 3 nights during a recent international conference.

Cost USD 150/night.

Lobby is impressive. Full stop.

Room is clean but jaded.

Faucets are rusty, small rattan chair as a reading chair and a 20 inch CRT colour TV in room. No LCD/plasma.....!!!

Facilities belongs to previous decade.

Buffet was disappointing.

There are better hotels in Hanoi at much less price.
